Add LSU-Bama and A&M-Tennessee to the list of games that won't be played this weekend.

Sounds like somebody forgot to tell all these teams that the virus went away on Wednesday of last week.

Halloween parties, man. They're undefeated. Easily the most anticipated holiday of college each year.

At this rate I just hope we are able to continue the season. I know Florida hasn’t had issues since they came back, but this is crazy. 3 games in one weekend.

If one good thing came from the hurricane, it was that kids at our school didn’t have power to go out and be stupid during Halloween. I wonder how other high schools are doing

Add LSU-Bama and A&M-Tennessee to the list of games that won't be played this weekend.

Sounds like somebody forgot to tell all these teams that the virus went away on Wednesday of last week.

Somebody forgot to tell that none of these kids are dying from it or coming close.

Halloween parties !!
But walking thru the Cotton District Saturday night about 5:45, absolutely no masks nor social distancing and ... lots of short skirts and short, low cut tops on the very nice scenery!

The increased number of players testing positive is just following the curve for the whole country. Look for the NFL to really get hit in the next couple of weeks.

Since this is the trend at the moment, this makes me question the feasibility of basketball. I hope it works. It does however seem difficult to miss 10-14 days of games and then make those up. Hopefully there is some relief soon and we don’t have to think about this stuff for much longer.

College basketball is not as profitable

Since this is the trend at the moment, this makes me question the feasibility of basketball. I hope it works. It does however seem difficult to miss 10-14 days of games and then make those up. Hopefully there is some relief soon and we don’t have to think about this stuff for much longer.

As football, so expect to see more stringent “safety” measures

Horrible take. Football is already ahead of national trends...way ahead, it is the nature of the beast in a contact sport.

How many people do you know that have had it? How many football players have? It isn't proportionate.

IS NOT JUST ABOUT THE KIDS! Quit being a dumbass!

People in their 20's had sex during the 1917 pandemic. They had sex when AIDS was a huge thing. People in thier 20's have sex with VD out there. Hell people in thier 20s had sex during the black plague.

Trying to stop it is like trying to hold back the tide. These lockdowns and other crap have done far more damage than good. 240,000 people will die from despair, relapse, or other untreated conditions give or take.

We need to go back to normal and just accept that we have something else in life to deal with that is survived by almost everybody who isn't already on deaths door.

It's not. It is just that they have mandatory lockdowns on players who are not even positive because they were in the same room with people that tested positive with a very flawed test.

The way they run these PCR tests they lose specificity and can show positive for many other viruses including a common cold. That is, in my thoughts, why there have been so many asymptomatic carriers and people with super minor symptoms. The test shows positive but they don't have covid, they have a cold.

Simmer down, coronabruh jr. It's because of contact tracing and such, which results in many more than truly necessary being quarantined. Plus, the games themselves aren't the spreading events. It's Halloween, voting, etc.

Are you sure about that? Football brings in a ton more revenue and has a ton more expenses.

I would have expected they'd be close or basketball would be ahead, just because the march madness checks are so big and you don't lose money on the post season like a lot of football programs do.

What's going on with football is simple: They are testing and contact tracing like you should. If we could do it this way for everyone we would get this under control in a month or so. Obviously we cant test the entire population three times a week.

FYI: The CDC FINALLY came out and said what the data has been saying for months: masks DO provide protection to the wearer. I's not 100% but it absolutely reduces your odds of getting it. It also can reduce the severity of your case if you do contract it while wearing a mask.

Now you can add Missouri-Georgia to the list of postponed games.

Can't believe people are still perpetuating this hoax.**

Not feasible. Look at Europe and Australia. After lockdowns, cases are spiking. You will never be able to "control" this virus until a vaccine is administered.

How in the world is your last sentence even remotely true? If you get the virus, it's up to your body's antibodies and handling the virus load. Nothing to do with a mask. Also, only 36%(maybe less) of people in a household contracts the virus when a family member is positive. Most of those family members are not wearing masks inside their homes, imo.

Because a mask reduces the quantity of the virus that enters your system. Less virus to fight = better odds your immune system will win. CDC has lost a lot of credibility with the conflicting advice they keep coming out with. It should have been obvious to anyone that wearing a mask does provide some level of protection to the wearer, even if it's not 100%.

I've read that a lower viral load can mean a less severe case.
A towel that is damp will dry faster than a towel that is dripping wet.
No idea if the viral load theory is correct or not.

90% chance of rain tomorrow in Augusta, but weather for the rest of the tournament looks OK.

Others have pointed out why that last sentence is very likely true. The data is starting to point that way. Reduced viral load at infection means you body has a chance to ramp up its defenses before the infection gets too bad.

Fun Fact if you don't get tested for covid. It isn't your fault if you spread it since you didn't know. Kind of like stds
