It's not. It is just that they have mandatory lockdowns on players who are not even positive because they were in the same room with people that tested positive with a very flawed test.

The way they run these PCR tests they lose specificity and can show positive for many other viruses including a common cold. That is, in my thoughts, why there have been so many asymptomatic carriers and people with super minor symptoms. The test shows positive but they don't have covid, they have a cold.

Because a mask reduces the quantity of the virus that enters your system. Less virus to fight = better odds your immune system will win. CDC has lost a lot of credibility with the conflicting advice they keep coming out with. I've read that a lower viral load can mean a less severe case.

Others have pointed out why that last sentence is very likely true. The data is starting to point that way. Reduced viral load at infection means you body has a chance to ramp up its defenses before the infection gets too bad.
