Gov. Kate Brown, the Oregon Democrat, signed a bill last month with little fanfare that drops the requirement that high school students prove proficiency in reading, writing or math, before graduation.

The Oregonian reported that the governor has seemed to avoid discussing Senate Bill 744. Her move to sign the bill was "not public until recently, because her office did not hold a signing ceremony or issue press release." The paper also pointed out that the bill was first signed on July 14 but not added into the state’s database until July 29 due to a glitch in the system.

So if you are a company who needs to hire people who can read you need to avoid Oregon.

The reality of this is that over the next 2 years high schools across Oregon will see increased graduation rates and the teachers unions will beat their chest about how much their teachers did to increase the education of Oregon youth and they will demand and get a raise.

Bingo. The old school system has failed kids for decades but this ”new way of learning” has increased graduation rates that were thought to be unattainable, so we should implement it all throughout the United States, which is what Oregon and the Teachers Unions will say.

Isn't Oregons Education Department the one that said math is racist(I know, I know everything is racist) and the answers to math problems be whatever you want them to be?
