I was just curious as to what the pack thinks about Brandon Walker's new podcast on SEC Country & his FB live format.

We've had at least a month, or so, of shows to form an opinion.

I'll get it started with my own thoughts:

1) I'm happy & proud of Shrek for furthering his career & making more for his ever-expanding brood.

2) I'm glad I still get to hear his takes on all things State related.

3) I'm still on the fence in regards to the FB Live format, for I'm unable to participate at the time he records, & only hear the podcast version.

4) That said, he seems a bit more reserved than he used to be, & more on his own show than when he joins HD on BSR.

5) When all the kinks get worked out & he can have guests, I think it will be better.

6) That's not to say it's a bad product, only that, at times, ok most shows, we get BW Light.

7) Unrelated: I find it funny that Jake has started almost all of his shows since the thread on him with a canned cheering audience.

Brandon, I'll keep listening. The same goes for you, Jake. I'm not sure I could do what y'all do, speaking to an empty room. Hell, the same can be said for Justin & Joel.

Big fan of BW. His new show certainly seems to be more laid back so far, maybe it's the format? He still takes small subtle jabs at OM but not nearly as often as when he was on BSR. But overall still listen pretty much every time he does a recording, very entertaining for me.

I'm still figuring it out. I did a podcast today without the FB Live. Whatever works, that'll be what I go with long-term.

And I'm not consciously going light on Ole Miss, they just haven't done anything mind-numbingly stupid since I started doing this podcast. Plus, even their writers have chilled a bit, resulting in no bedtime stories.

You have to make fun of someone every show. If Yahnzee or Hugh hasn't given you anything you have to go back to your bread and butter: Brian Hadad.

Down vote me if you want (wait, this isn't Reddit) but I find all of the MSU podcasts I've tuned into (I won't reveal which ones) painfully hard to listen to. I listen to pods @ least an hour a day during my commute and can't do the MSU ones. I can't deal w/ coaches shows either (to much fluff and coach speak), but w/ the pods I feel like I'm listening to 8th graders recording in their parents basement on a cassette recorder in 1975 when I've tried to listen.

So, I start a thread & the podcast changes? Ok, I'll start one imploring you & IMPP to do a tandem show.**

Keep up the good work!

It may be just a generation thing. Cochise Sr, a Swan Lake member, and I were on the 6 hour trip to Starkvegas (the fall before last maybe) & I played a few shows for him. He couldn't really get into it & at times found it hard to follow. However, he loved HD's take on the "Toxic Rivalry" when Brian put it back up on that Fourth of July weekend.

I used to only listen to the B&B Show & ...(**** what was the name of Brandon & Chad's show before he renamed it Keeping it a Buck with Shrek?). I would skip the Boneyard (for I don't follow recruiting), The Skydawgs (for I don't follow nimbus & cirrus), Double Coverage, & Bulldog Countdown. But, then I just let the app play through. The more I listened the more I enjoyed each show for different reasons.

What I'm trying to get across is that I understand your reservations. However, if you give them a chance, and you have the time, just listen more. As an out of state, State fan, they all have become invaluable to my unhealthy obsession with all things State sports related.

For the record: I am of the Gap Generation. Neither X nor Y. I think it's a 10 year span between '75-'85. I also don't know any of the people involved with BSR. So, this isn't a shilled endorsement. But, I will take some free chat!*

I thought today's show without the Facebook live was better. More attention to the podcast than having to respond to FB live posts. But I like both and will listen either way. Do miss the bedtime stories though.
