This is already over. No need to speculate. And it was over before the outcome of today’s game too.
My guess is this probably correct.

SHort of Frost returning there is probably only a few names that could stop mutiny at this point and I think Moos was told this during the interview.

If it's not Frost then I think only

  • Stoops
  • Saban
  • Meyer
  • Spurrier
  • Belichick
  • Patterson
Would give any candidate breathing space.

I'm sure it's a done deal.

Chip kelly. Been hearing his name a lot lately. I'm a UNL grad. I have donated money for years. However, I wised up and quit. Some of my friends, (who have deep pockets and you have heard of them, if you live around Lincoln,) haven't stopped. The name I keep hearing is Chip kelly. Frost? I have heard he has not been approached. We will see. I don't think he is coming here. If he is smart, I wouldn't either.

The only school I've heard associated with Chip is Florida. Chip would be a horrible FIT at NU. I have friends with deep pockets too and the money is on Frost.

The money may be on Frost, but I think Moos has other ideas. Who knows? However, Chip would be a good fit at NU, even though he would not be my first pick.

My list since it is NU we must try to land Frost.

Others on my short list, and I know, highly unlikely.

David Shaw
Patterson
Gundy
Wittingham

Maybe Patterson, but the others? Shaw, have you ever been to Palo Alto? It's wonderful and he has said if anyone can prove to his wife their college town is nicer than Palo Alto he may listen. Gundy. I think he just uses potential job offers to get a raise from T-Bone. Wittingham, he's LDS, went to BYU and likes to snowboard.

Chip a good fit at NU? Not in a million years. No way.
Not a fan of Chip. However, he is a good fit for NU regardless. He is the home-run hire NU fans are looking for. Without Chip, we would not be talking about Scott Frost. If Frost had graduated from Michigan or whatever, he would not be talked about as much. Hire him. Who cares? Hire a good coach that is proven. Scott has a ways to go, but I would not have a problem hiring him. He is not my first pick, but I would accept it. Kelly would be above him no question.

thinking outside the box a bit, but here goes.
1. Neal Brown HC Troy- young, energetic, innovative offensive mind who could be a long term hire
2 chad Morris HC SMU another young offensive minded coach. Could recruit DFW area effectively
3 Doc Holliday HC Marshall excellent team builder. Has been successful at the mid-major level why not give him am shot
4.Dave Doren HC N C State- Turned that program around quickly and could do the same if not more with Nebraska's resources

Legit Top 5

Scott Frost -- Big Money and comes home.

Greg Schiano - After this season he wants to be a Head Coach in college again. Was offered different jobs last year but turned all offers down.

Dan Mullen -- Wants to coach at a school with a bigger brand.

Chip Kelly -- Big Money will get him.

Terry Bowden -- Just wants out of Akron.

Nobody knows.. wouldn’t be surprised if never reaches out to Frost.

You seriously wouldn’t be surprised if Frost, one of the top most sought after up-and-coming coaches this season, who’s an alumni, that the fan base is literally hanging large signs on O Street to call for him, wouldn’t be contacted? Seriously?

Dave Doeren?????

Seriously, I don't think a 13-25 conference record qualifies for any type of a turnaround.

For anyone in love with Chip Kelly, let's say he comes. Does well, and in year four, runs off to the NFL again, or Ole Piss gets off probation and throws 10 mill at him. I know the glory days are long gone and even the prospects of having a corch stay over 10 years are slim anymore, but the specter of that would be difficult.
