Is starting to gel. Took about this long at Penn State too.

We got ourselves a good one fellas. Not many out there I'd trade him for.

He might be ok, but we have at least a dozen or so people that post here that know more than Moorhead

Ok, we have Bama next week let's see how all of this flyes. Progress and all....

I'll say we no longer look like, we are like a lost ball in high weeds.

Which is important to me.

Haha! Half these armchair ADs would have fired him after the Kentucky loss. So many on here have losing mentality..

It's crazy. We have some of the greatest football minds that ever lived as State fans. And they all choose careers in something other than high level coaching.

Nick saban should thank God every day our fans care more about being accountants and insurance salesmen than football coaches

So, the offense should have no problem next week in Tuscaloosa. Ok, let's see how this plays out.

Lets see what happens the rest of the year.

We are great against La Tech and La Laffeyete.

Also AMs DBs are terrible.

Tbh I don’t think there is very much of Moorhead’s offense that is being run right now. At least not the one from Penn state and Fordham.

This is strictly designed for nick.

We won’t look like this for the next 2-3 years on offense.

Just go back and look at those highlights shotgun posted. Qb gets rid of the ball quickly. Or runs quickly

There is no way to take back losing to Kentucky, Florida and LSU.

We are way more talented than Kentucky and Florida for sure. We should not have lost to them.

We can all say “we’ve turned the corner!!”, but the fact is we will be worse next year becaus we lose sooo much talent.

I’ve watched State for 40+ years. This is the most talented team we’ve had. We blew the real opportunity this year.

What coach, other than saban, doesn't have terrible games

Everyone says Mullen would be 9-0. Mullen got trucked at home today by Missouri. And Mullen lost to Kentucky.

Kentucky who lost to Georgia today, even though that same Georgia team got whipped by LSU, who lost to Mullen.

People seems to think its clear that the team with the most talent should always win. I fully expect Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, and LSU to all fire their coaches for losing those games.

Moorhead is in his first year as a coach. In the sec.

It sucks we had to change coaches the year we had all this talent. But we can't do anything about it.

But so many people here are just complete idiots. It's a tough game, a tough league, and moorheads first year. We don't know yet if he will be awful or great. Anyone that claims they do......well bless their hearts.

Think people are looking in too much in a win again la tech and tamu. We were in a ton of third and longs against tamu. Their pass rush is terrible and dbs are terrible. One thing different the last two weeks is nick has had time to throw on these long developing plays and receivers have gotten open. Did anyone watch the auburn tamu game? Stidham has been crap all year in the pass until today against tamu. Tonight we played subpar talent across the field. So let’s not get carried away. We are still throwing on all most every down and it’s getting us in a lot of third and long situations when we don’t connect. Lucky for us Bama is the only good defense we we have left to play. I know Bama is Bama and it probably wouldn’t matter what we do. But those passing plays are going to look a lot like LSU looked tonight and what we looked like against LSU and Florida trying to throw the ball. Won’t be enough time for all that to unfold like we have had the last two games. I’m happy they are getting some blocks making some nice grabs and nick is putting the ball where he needs to most of the time the last two games. But coming one here and beating your chest about all the ney sayers is a bit early. Arkansas’ defense and ole miss’ defense both suck so I expect good thing out of the offense in those games.

Kentucky and LSU both have good defenses. When our defense shuts an opponent down do we say it was because their offense sucked?

It goes both ways. Our defense is better than theirs, but they both have good defenses and this is a new coach. A learning curve doesn't mean he can't be good.

That's the thing. People are making definite statements. Like "he sucks as bad as croom and the program is set back 10 years". Or "we got a good one guys. This is exactly like PSU"

Just be rational. We really can't say for sure. We can't read too much into either the wins or the loses.

People can make valid arguments in why the wins show great things. And people can make valid arguments against it.

You can ague the loses aren't thar bad for a new coach, and you can argue they are.

***** about him if you don't like him, or praise him if you do, but just try not to go too far

Yes our defense is great in shear numbers of what they have done to everyone. But to be honest the best offenses on our schedule are still Bama and ole miss. Florida has been the only other offense that has been decent at racking up points against mid tier to better defenses. The point I’m trying to make is that we looked better in the passing game the last two games. I believe that more to be based on the competition in the secondary and not facing the same type of pass rushers we faced against LSU, Florida, Kentucky, and even auburn. People are talking about gellinf and clicking. We thought the same things after Kansas state and ULL. Faced a good defense with a good secondary and pass rush and it went to crap. I’m still not sold on the pass happy offense

Im not so sure we will be worse next year. We might not be as good on defense but we will still be good there. We have a lot of guys that are red shirting offensively we should be better. I think we could still be 8-4 9-3.

Again with that

We are still throwing on all most every down

You have been saying that all season although there is no truth to it. The official stats for last night's game say we ran the ball 36 times and passed 29.

I agree with you that it is a bit early to be declaring this offense great and Coach Moorhead a great hire. But you were way too early in declaring it a total failure and JoMo a bad hire.

I think the fans that emphasize the amount of talent we had and how trying to change the offense with Nick has cost us games we should have won are being fair in their assumption that this could have been a special season. The fact is we are and we’re going to lose to Bama next week whether we are or were 8-1 or even 9-0. But now, with 3 losses, that loss will give us 4 losses. Losing to Bama and being 8-2 or 9-1 after, would still set us up for a New Year’s 6 Bowl. 4 losses pretty much guarantees a Tier 2 bowl. Sad, considering what could have been.

I like Moorhead a lot. I wish he had understood better what he had in Nick early in the season, but that was hard to evaluate. He’s made adjustments for his QB and things are going well.

All that said, we have a talent issue on the OL. It’s bad. Really bad. We have to get some bodies in. That LG position is making dumb mistakes the whole game in pass protection. Bama is going to eat our lunch with the inside rush.
