At least our coaches got to spend some quality time with him before his departure this past week. I'm going to go out on a limb and say we will have a spot for Dylan Lawrence.
I’m sure telling yourself this makes you feel better. But those were kids we wanted and 17ing Gus Malzahn came in and took them like picking bread off the shelve. Not to mention UGA and Alabama getting 3 of the top ten Ms prospects.
We got our 17ing **** pushed in in-state this year. It’s incredible le when you look at the 247 Ms prospect page.
Woodson, not Gus, Moore has potential but losing him honestly is ok. We had

The incredible part is that while we have some real headliners at the top of the class we aren't even going to sign enough players, even with our backups getting late offers, to have a full class. And this was a year where MS had a much deeper class than normal.
What year has Auburn and Bama not signed who they wanted In Mississippi? it’s not like Moore was Johnny Cooks nephew.
I am really trying not to go into complete meltdown, but reality this was the best high school class in Mississippi in a generation, we have played in a bowl 9 consecutive seasons (difficult to fathom for a 52 yr old like me), these seniors did not see Ole Miss play in a bowl during their high school career & they have a fat version of Barney Fyfe coaching up - End Result will be that we finish ranked 11-12 in the SEC and tied with Ole Miss in recruiting. This class in Mississippi looks like a late 80's class with half of the top ranked recruits going out of State. This not a good look. I am about 3 steps from the edge of the cliff.
Some kids, sure. But auburn went 3 for 3 pretty much, bama probably 2 for 3. UGA 1-1. That’s of the top ten.
Say what you want, but MSU has never been put in its place as hard as this year with the coaches leaving for same positions at the blue bloods (not Hud obviously) and the recruits leaving the state.
Is it really surprising to you that 2 of the best 5 programs in football right now got 3 of MS's best players? Great players often want a chance to compete for NC's. Just a fact. It coulda been worse.
As an example, Rickea Jackson is the best female HS player to come out of Michigan in about a decade. Michigan State and even Michigan have solid programs, but she's coming to podunk Starkville, 800 miles from home. Wonder why?
This is not a defense of JoMo, just an observation that guys signing with Bama and UGA is not surprising.

I’m not saying I don’t understand the decisions, I’m 17ing frustrated and want Cohen and Moorehead to do something about it.
And if they can’t, then why even try.
I wanna say first that I would’ve been happy to have Moore in this class... but the dude is coming off of an ACL injury. He’s not gonna be the same player, based off of what I’ve heard from posters and podcasters the dude sounds like a headcase. We’re loaded at Dline and have plenty of depth. It’s not like we just missed on a program changing guy.
We’re gonna be fine. We have a solid class with some studs in the trenches. All you need is to find some PLAYERS that mesh with our coaches. I swear 95% of it is having the right chemistry with a coach and a player where the coach can push the right buttons to get them going. Sweat was pretty average at Michigan State... went to JuCo and wasn’t THAT highly recruited. Like 3 or 4 star guy and came in and just went off and now he’s a first round pick. If Moore doesn’t fit and doesn’t like what we have then why would you want him. Pickering likes the setup... he’s got the skill... he’s gonna be another pro to come through our program.

What Moorhead needs to do is take the talent he's got, which is not insignificant, and overachieve with them. Many of us have many doubts that's possible. We'll know soon enough.
What gets me with the kids going out of state is that it rarely works well for them. I'd guess if you looked at all the ones who went out of Mississippi, there would be maybe on average 1 per year that you could consider having a successful college career.
Alabama and Auburn combined for 7 of the top 15 in Alabama, missing on the top two players in Alabama, AU only signed 2 of those players. No.3 and No. 15.

Having a hard time trying to say you're wrong. I know there are probably plenty of examples of highly recruited guys going out of state and doing well, but they aren't leaping to mind.
LSU has certainly had a few through the years, but they've missed on a ton of LA players who've had big success elsewhere.
Uhh.. Very well put, but we are actually behind OM right now in the rankings. They signed 10 more croots than us though.
Yeah in 2016 and 2016 Dan signed 4 of the top 20 in state and 5 of the top 20 in state. So lets not act like we're so far removed. Normally We do have good success, most years between 7-9 of the top 20. But Ole Miss regularly has decent success too, multiple years with 7-9 of the top 20. I haven't done the research but other schools don't come looking for talent is it because we out recruited them or because the talent isn't there?

It was actually folks in Moore's inner circle who told him going to a school outside of MS would be best for him in the long run. Then low and behold he says coaches at Auburn and Florida are talking about hooking him up with a job after football.
Moore got manipulated and he's a head case. I expect to see him in the transfer portal sooner rather than later. Maybe have his RS FR year.
