I am guessing that all eight teams are in action tonight as opposed to Tuesday due to exam schedules. If that is right, then they likely do not play again until Friday. So here is list of tonight's games and my brief take on them. Of course I realize that most people tonight have some football game or another on their minds, but maybe a "little bit" of attention can be given to these games..........
East Rock at Wilson: With Page having lost on Friday, that could put the Eagles back in the driver's seat for the district lead. They really pummeled Luray on Friday, whereas the Hornets, if I am not mistaken, have lost their last three. So on paper, even though it is a road game, this looks like a 15, maybe even 20, point win for ERHS.
Luray at Stuarts Draft: Oh those unpredictable Cougars! If the threes fall, they win, and if they don't, they don't. Apparently they have had two good games in a row, knocking off Page Friday and then hitting 14 triples in their one-point loss to Lee. So they should have enough to handle the Dogs in this one. SD by 12.
Riverheads at Stonewall; Now that the Gladiators have the monkey off their back, I would of course love to see them make it two in a row. Stonewall has been crushed in some games (giving up 135 to the Cougars and being doubled up at home by Page), but in their last two, they scored over 50 at both East Rock and Buffalo Gap. So "maybe" they are building some confidence. Riverheads "should" prevail in this one, unless they let the Wilson win go to their heads and they come out flat. But it will not be an easy win. I say the Big Red wins by 7.
Page at Buffalo Gap: These two teams have had an odd history against one another and you can never predict what will happen. But I will go with the Panthers just based on overall season results. Page by 14.
So there you have it........a gutsy prediction of three out of four wins for the visitors. Sounds like the Wild Card round doesn't it?
