So what position do you all think he'll play? It clearly won't be RB since he doesn't like contact, won't run up the middle and wanted to switch to DB. WR, CB?

If he were to stay here I would have wanted him to switch to WR. He is extremely talented, but he just isn’t built to play RB, at least not one that gets more than about 10 carries a game. There’s no way in hell he has a sustained career as a RB (if he gets his **** together) IMHO.

most of our talent were freshmen this past season. So yes, we had to suck it up with walk on RBs to get through the season. Now that’s over with, it’s full steam ahead with R Johnson, Wan’Dale Robinson, and R Thompkins. I think Scott 3 and Morrison will come in ready to play from day one. Sevion Morrison is just shy of 190 pounds...I’m curious if they will redshirt him or not?
Hey I hope I’m wrong about Rahmir. I really do. He’s got to learn how to get off of the line of scrimmage that being wiggle, vision, or power. He didn’t display any his freshman year. No disrespect to the kid. I bet he knows he’s got a lot of work to do to be a legit Power 5 back.

IMO RB is a spot that you either have it or you don’t. What I mean is its not generally a spot that “the light bulb comes on one day” and one goes from 5th on the depth chart to an all-American. It’s a spot that it isn’t rare for a freshman to come in and play well at.

Go thru the list of great Husker backs in the last 30 years or so, (Helu, AA, Rex, Green, Buckhalter, LP, D Brown, C Jones... Evans could have been,) all of these guys played their freshman year and showed something special in my opinion. I’d almost even add Oz to the list who also preformed well as a freshman.

I just can’t think of a story where a kid looked like crap at RB at NU and then the “light bulb went on” and he turned in to a good back. Corey Ross maybe? I don’t know. But I’m getting old and things are starting to run together and I don’t have time to research it. Ha. But RJ did not look like a legit back last year and his case is difficult to assess. He didn’t play in a lot of games due to the new RS rule but he did get a lot of carries against one of the worst defenses we played and he didn’t look like he had the “it” factor. He reminded me of a lot of ex-Husker backs that ended up not working out. He looked like he had 50 pound weights on his ankles

I wish Mo luck. But I’m glad the decision wasn’t dragged on past Spring LOI day. We can put that scholarship to good use.

UNL is the easiest Big Ten school academically, by a good margin. If he can't cut it here, he won't last long at any other Big Ten school either.
If you don’t think most schools have majors to accommodate top athletes, you are kidding yourself. Stanford used to claim that they have no such “athlete-oriented” majors and I would guess Northwestern falls into that same category. So Mo may not pop up at either of those schools. But that leaves a lot of other options.

take a look for yourself on his offer list. Rivals is the only that didn’t have him a 4 star and Top 250 player...

You do understand the difference between offering and actually signing them, you have no proof Ohio St would have finished the process.

Rhamir played in 4 games with zero carries in 2 of them. He had only 3 carries in his first game.
So really the only time he had a chance was one game against Maryland with 18 carries for 55 yds (3 ypc).

It’s just a small sample size and Coach Held has spoken highly of the kid.
I’m hoping he grows this offseason to be a reliable RB. He’s got the speed at least.

I hope the kid does well in life. At this point, I think we're better off as a team without the distraction but Mo is likely in a much worse spot without Nebraska's support system.
