We get it, it's a business. As long as Cade is happy living out his dreams, we're happy. He heads out to their High A affiliate Aberdeen (Maryland) IronBirds tomorrow. We appreciate the Twins seeing enough in him to draft him in the 3rd round and we doubly appreciate the Orioles seeing more in him as they traded an All Star closer with Cade as the headline return.

When the Padres acquired Machado I thought they would never put enough talent around him to win a pennant - never imagined them being this aggressive. Still haven't won anything, obviously, but man they are pulling out all the stops. Remarkable.

the issue is our owner.....if you want to own a MLB team, commit to it...spend the money...or get out.

Or make sure your team is located in a market where people will show up regardless of the product on the field and you make a good return without trying. The Rockies have hardly won anything of significance in their 30 years of existence, and have only had a winning record 2 of the past 12 years, yet consistently rank in the top 10 in MLB in attendance (#7 this year) Apparently Denver is such a melting pot of transplants there are enough locals filling the turnstiles supporting the visiting team for every home game. Mired in last place yet again, the Rockies did nothing at the trade deadline.

My Aunt and Uncle lived in Aberdeen. It's the hometown of the Ripkens. The stadium is just off I-95 and is named after the Ripken family.

Quite a debut game last night. Padres beat the Rockies 9 to 1.

Drury stole the spotlight from Soto and Bell last night by hitting a Grand Slam his first at bat as a Padre! :Cool:

Why? Because he's in Slam Diego!!!!!!
