Said on the show today that on Monday he talked to someone who would have a good idea on Knox and at that time they thought he had made a decision with his family to go. He was set to announce on Tuesday or Wednesday, but wanted to wait a little bit because he might not have been ready to announce and wanted to think on it a little more.

I'm guessing he pushed it back to see who else on other teams went. No reason not to, in order to get a clue what number you might get picked. Cal preaches "lifetime" scholarship and he's watched Vanderbilt get hurt. I'll be shocked if he returns and am kind of surprised Cal tried to talk him into coming back, but I guess that's because Cal has seen how much the G league sucks.

My only hope is that this is the same 'Reliable Insider' who told Jones that Kentucky was definitely getting Barrett and Williamson, among others, and also told him Kentucky wasn't getting Jamal Murray.

I'm pretty sure Matt was one of the only people I recall still giving UK a chance with Murray the day of the announcement.

Always expected both to leave until I saw otherwise. Just hope the chatter about Green transferring is BS if they do.

It's hard to deal with losing the best after the kind of season it was.Plus missing out on our major recruiting targets so far.

Knox & Shai are lottery projected players, so I don't blame them. And Diallo was just always sort of expected to go. It's losing more than those three where it'll start to bum me out.

Between the nine of Knox, Shai, Diallo, Green, Vanderbilt, Washington, Gabriel, SKJ and Richards, I want us to have at least 5 of them on our roster next season.

SGA and Knox are both gone...they just dont know it yet. Why do we go through this every year....why?

Pretty much this. Think along these lines and don’t get disappointed with the annual mass exodus. I don’t know jack but this is usually the safe assumption with Kentucky

Knox may be torn over the decision but anyone who hasn’t assumed he would go pro is just fooling themselves. If he stuns is all and decides to stay, I will be the first to jump up and down with excitement. Don’t count on it.
I assumed he would go pro up until immediately after the loss to K State. I still feel that he comes back. Hope I'm right.

It's hard to see that team as a title hopeful IMO unless more is added.

So Matt is reporting that he was set to go, now he isn't sure. That is what my insiders are saying. He is torn between going and staying. We may have to wait until he announces. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Maybe it's the guy who told him we were getting Randle or Knox, among others.

Harrison Twins and WCS before the 2014-2015 season as well.

And those two seasons ended up being our best under Cal.
Among 22 players under Cal who have received 1st or 2nd team All SEC, Jones was the only one to return. He was 1st team All-SEC by both coaches and media and was SEC Freshman of the Year (over Brandon Knight). In the Cal era, we've only had 8 guys average more than 15ppg in a season. Only 1 came back...Jones.

Agree it takes special guys to come back to win it all.

Kevin would be the first leading scorer from Cal's UK teams to return.

This would be HUGE!!

Hope he does, but it would shock me.

If we're going to specify elite caliber players returning, then yes. Just mentioning the other year because we returned a whole lot, and three players in that case who a lot expected to leave. Most expected Willie to leave until the week leading up to his return, and The Harrisons felt like a 50/50 situation regardless of where they were projected in the draft.
