Skipping a practice is one thing. Kneeling for the National Anthem is another entirely. And if it's sanctioned by the university, it makes it several orders of magnitude more unacceptable.

Currently, players aren’t on the field and never have been on the field during the national anthem. If there is a change to that this year, it’s 100% to allow the players to kneel.

I understand your point and respect that. I used to feel the same way. I still personally hate the kneeling but I’ve just accepted that’s it’s probably not going away anytime soon. I prefer that to the looting and rioting. I am glad that we have the freedoms to do demonstrations like kneeling for the flag, no matter how stupid and polarizing that may be. Lots of places in the world you’d get killed for demonstrations like that.

I would think the support they receive will be somewhat commensurate with the respect and loyalty they show MSU and it's fan base. If their loyalty to MSU and it's fans is secondary to their own political ideology then I think MSU fans should reciprocate in kind. Fair enough ?

But what does that really mean? Can they only show your their loyalty and respect by playing football and shutting up?

Not trying to be argumentative here I just don’t understand the statement. If they do anything that disagrees with your political view, then do you take that as no loyalty and respect to MSU and the fan base?

Just keep them in the locker room because that’s what you’ve always done. There is no reason at all to go and create drama by changing everything up so they can go make political statements during the anthem! Don’t create a problem where none exists. Anyone who signs off on lighting that unnecessary grenade should be fired.

Agree with this 100%. If they change things, it’s 100% to allow them to kneel. And that is not going to be well received anywhere in the SEC. I think ADs and presidents know this, but I’m just scared they are going to bend the knee to the liberal mob regarding this.

If it's standard procedure, sure. But don't change to placate and keep them out of the spotlight. Honestly, I've never noticed if they're on the field for the anthem or not.

once you have started down this road, you dont go back. if you make a statement about a shooting in wisconsin, you will make a statement about subsequent shootings particularly if you see those in professional leagues doing the same. i dont think shootings by police of latinos, whites, blacks, and any other creed will stop because criminals will continue to do criminal things and society is not to the point where criminals are being held accountable. its simple...you want to end police violence? teach everyone to comply with the police 100%. do that and this "systemic racism" is solved and people dont leave in gurneys or body bags.

So they could have been kneeling the whole time and you wouldn’t have known?

It means just what it says. If they want the respect and loyalty (which has gone far beyond graduation in many many instances) that MSU fans have historically shown their athletes I would suggest they show loyalty to the school and be respectful to it's fans as top priorities just as so many great MSU athletes have done in the past . They are free to play it anyway they choose but this is basically just a "fact of life" so to speak.

Just think season ticket holders, the cases of the cops in Minneapolis and Atlanta haven't been fully adjudicated yet. There could be acquittals for some or all. The Wisconsin cops haven't been charged... yet. Oh and an little election in November.

I hope the players like the outcomes of those upcoming events.

So, do what you want or else basically.

If someone has to act and think just like you to have your loyalty and respect then you probably don’t have too many people who are honest around you. Luckily for MSU athletes, I don’t think they care about having “thatsbaseball’s” respect.

Nobody said they have to act and think like me or anybody else. They know they play for a basically conservative southern fan base. If they choose to get in that fan base's face with a radical political ideology they're going to piss a lot of people off. It's their choice but there will be consequences....that's just the way life is.

This post is the definition of a snowflake.

But again, I’m sure your loyalty and respect has done as much for Dak as it has done for Damien Williams.
