He should of went to Cloudland last year like he almost did. Cloudland would of maybe won it last year or at least would of beat South Pittsburgh to get to the finals. You got to admit there has been more Avery kids at Mitchell over the past few years. Not saying it’s bad. Parents have to do what they think is best.

I don't know I thought the same thing as far as LSU and I'll ask the next time I see him if I heard him right and not ASU but whomever it was he seemed very sure he's work on the team staff for a long time.
Thing is for whatever colleges are looking at him I with they'd give him some chances to kick a field goal like against Erwin with only time for one play at the end of the half they should have let kick one instead of going for the TD which they didn't get.
They always go for the touchdown and might get it 1 out of 20 tries I have never understood it

I honestly think he would have gotten more attention at Avery with this years coach everyone hates Mitchell and very few Mitchell players have ever played college ball, I even tried to get my son to move starting after his 8th grade year, he wouldn't do it I didn't make him it is what it is. Our coaches tells our kids it's there responsibility to reach out to college's
It's hard for any mountain kids to get recognized but I believe the coaches should help on my senior year team in '82-'83 season 3 went to D1 one was all ACC and one all American and serval others to small colleges but our coach played at NC State and knew the coach needs to get involved and make contacts.

I think Avery messed up when they let Ty Smith's dad go and hired Mac Brian he told me running the ball was boring he liked to throw the ball made it more exciting no wonder he coached 15 different teams in 30 yrs, he set Avery back 5 years I honestly hope the new coach turns it around they have been a joke for 6 or so years, honestly dont blame the kid for leaving but look at Travis Pittman he stayed at Mitchell and took his

I don't know if he would have gotten more attention from colleges or not, but his decision to move had nothing to do with college and everything to do with "stacking the deck".
Jesus guy as many people has said he’s a freaking teenager why are you dialing in on him on here? Absolutely none of my business what so ever but he is a kid get ovet it how the hell does this affect you that you have to continually post on anything and everything to do with this kid? Love ya 95 but disagree on this one seems like he has something negative to say anytime this kid is brought up.

I think the whole thing was blown out of proportion myself. I saw nothing wrong with what was said. It is hard for a new coach to build a culture and a winner when kids leave. It’s easy to say it’s fine when they move to your school but when they move away it sucks. I think selfish and not loyal etc are true definitions of a kid leaving his teammates to go and win somewhere else instead of grinding it out with his brothers. We see it at every level of sports and it sickens me. It’s win at all costs
I agree until it comes down to grown men constantly calling out kids on a damn website. He don’t have to say his name everyone on here knows who he’s talking about. I’m the last person who wants to see mitchell get better but if that’s what the kid wants to do what is it to anyone of us on this site?

I know you understand it kids leaving to go to Reynolds and Asheville High, 8th grade is when you can make the move, after that you have to stick it out, that's what I told my son, he stuck it out I'm proud of him for it but I really wish he would have moved
Should have wore green! Lol

I still say he is the best kicker in the west, that leg is where his $ is I hope he gets a ride

bty I asked again and he said yes it's LSU that they're not only interested they have sent him letters about their interest.
I would guess LSU would be a walk on to. Not many kickers get a scholarship. That means your ACT better be great to help with the out of state tuition.

Yeah your right but from what I was told they've sent him multiple letters and not just a preferred walk-on but I guess time will tell.
I hope you are right but LSU signed a 3 star kicker last year Nathan Dibert. I wouldn’t think they would keep 2 scholarship kickers on a roster of 85 scholarship players. LSU would be a cool place to play.
