From the article, sounds like a strained trap muscle. If this is what it is, then this is seemingly the best case scenario, right? Avoiding any sort of bone damage, tear or dislocation?

I would think he's day to day from this? But that could mean months for Cal..
Mitchell is not on mock draft boards. He is expendable so will be back soon. This does give cal a reason to play burks now which he just said had to figure out a way to get him more time. Figure it will just lead to more Edwards/bradshaw however. Cal won’t be playing Z, that ship has sailed.

It is the best news possible after what we all say. Vaught said he could maybe be back for LSU, but there a good chance he is out 1-2 weeks maybe even longer. It’s UK so he is gonna be out a little longer

We should/could get him back by SECT.

Tre's importance mostly comes from his experience. If this team could continue to improve, he might not be as needed. But we will sure need him for Auburn. Not sure how we win that game without him in there, just keeping the team composed. Auburn is for sure going to have two or three 12-15pt runs, where our team just looks lost. THAT'S when you need a guy like Tre.

Most likely out for the Auburn game. He started therapy Thursday and can’t really move the area injured well. Could be out LSU game maybe even longer than that. But not as bad as everybody previously though

He is done until the SEC Tournament, this keeps us from having a full complement of players except for 1/2 of a game this year.

I think Mitchell is the most irreplaceable piece on this team. Even if you're not a fan of his game, UK doesn't have anyone else to duplicate what he brings, including leadership. Losing him for any game in the SEC makes it tough, and I've read predictions that UK needs 2, maybe 3, more wins to ensure a Tournament bid.

I’d say let’s go ahead and take bets on which player(s) are gonna be out for weeks next season for whatever injury.

UK basketball right of passage.

That’s the sad part, dudes at other schools would make the next game or miss one at worse. I can easily see him not coming back until the SECT. That’s the ridiculous thing about how our program is ran.

I hope Bradshaw "breaks out" of UK and transfers as he does not help this team on bit !
We should hope he returns. He does have talent, he needs strength and time in college. He’s a perfect player to develop. You can see how this class was marginal at best. Not many huge difference makers in it.

I think most assumed he wouldn't be able to go tomorrow. Bigger question, is this a week-long-injury or a month-long-injury?

Golden opportunity to play BIg Z as a face up big....his shooting and floor spacing would be an asset in Auburn game.

But genius will play Bradshaw....get clog up the lane, get little lift defensively and crap rebounding...our scoring will dip into the 70s and we'll get drilled.

I knew the way he was holding it coming off the court that he’d be out till atleast sect, his back kept him out a while so he could jump up and down on the bench during this time. We need all hands on deck to turn this around but this season we can’t have a full complement of players for a time.

I hope Z and Bradshaw, heck maybe even Burks are all given the opportunity to "break out". Best man wins (significant minutes). If none do, then Theiro and Edwards at the 4.
Although Z and Bradshaw also need to support the 5, because even though I have been a big Onyenso supporter for the past year, I think 25min is about the most I want him out there at this point.

But something tells me we will see Edwards for 30 (mostly at the 3), Theiro for 25, Ugo for 25 & Bradshaw for 25. Maybe Burks sniffs the floor for <5. Z=0.

Auburn will be so loud and energized that the roof might blow off. I’d give anything to beat them and their coach but I have a feeling we will be in real trouble tomorrow. They’ll get EVERY call and our guys will panic.

Agreed, it looks kinda bleak from where I’m sitting…

The message needs to be “these guys think they’re gonna blow you out by 40 too!!” Normally I’d say I can live with a loss here if you go down fighting on the road in a close one. But that’s reserved for teams that took care of business at home. This team has ground to make up. Not many games where Kentucky feels like the true underdog, so I hope that helps inspire them.

I think UK loses by 7-8 in a game where they play pretty well. I think the team will be ready to go for this one after seeing them light up a team that stomped us, but it still won’t be enough.

UGO and Thiero get in foul trouble and a 40 to 50 pts beatdown is on its way.

I say refs have Adou with 2 fouls by 15 minute mark of 1st half. Bradshaw, Edwards, Burks will be pushed out of the way by auburn guards let alone their bigs. If Z gets in the same thing will happen. Just what it is.

We will see 4 guards some tomorrow with UGO or other big.

Can someone explain to me why "Big Z" is not a part of the rotation at either the 4 or 5 spot. Lots of people on here understand the game better than me.

Thanks

Auburn has some bigs that will school ours. This is a bad match up on the road, could get ugly.

Z is not the answer although it appears he has fans.
For the PF spot...who is better?

1. He is shooting 71% 3pt
2. He is a plus passer
3. He is probably the worst defensive player in terms of moving his feet
4. Average rebounder

But tell me who will be a better PF than Ivisic (assuming Mitchell is out)
1. Bradshaw
- Worse shooter of all options
- Defense...I think he is slightly better but not a ton over Ivisic.
- Below average rebounder
2. Burks
- Mediocre shooter
- Best defender by far
- Probably the worst rebounder

I just don't see why I'd play Bradshaw 30 minutes and Burks 10 minutes (which is what is going to happen)...vs. Ivisic run him 25 minutes a game and let others play when he needs a rest.

Bradshaw and Thiero are both better but that is just my opinion. Z can make a great play occasionally though. I pull for him but, for me, he is a step back from the other guys I mentioned.

1. I agree Thiero is better than Ivisic adn Bradshaw as well as Burks
2. My thought is playing THiero at PF for 30 minutes....he ain't playing a second at SF....which basically puts Mitchell out there for 30 minutes at SF....to which I think is not better than trying Ivisic at PF (so I'll argue Ivisic as a PF is a better bet than Edwards at SF)
3. I can't see how Bradshaw is better than Ivisic....I'd like to hear in what ways Bradshaw is better. HIs defense and rebounding have shown to be really poor...and he's had tons of minutes to show differently.

It feels like that doesn't it? Might not be reality. I know other teams have injuries, and we probably only focus on the injuries to our guys. But it does feel like our guys take longer to return from relatively minor injuries.

Not only are we losing experience, we are losing bulk. We better see some extreme growth from the pups, or we will be hard pressed to see the tournament. Just my thoughts.

Just an excuse for Cal to use tomorrow if they lose
Look no one thought he would be able to play. You just spew any make up **** you want to including that crap thread you started yesterday.l about hime being on the take. There is plenty of real legitimate stuff to complain about Cal and the need for him to already be gone but your obsessive bs makes you look like he is your obsession. You hate him but you let him lve rent free in your head.
