I can tell you for sure you guys will miss Carter Hoyle, Ethan Willis, Xander Gardner, Conner Buchanon for sure these guys bled purple and led us to Chapel Hill played both ways gave it their all, I dont know if I can attend games this year or not I may have to take a year off, I hope whoever wears that 22 understands how special it is and the former mountaineers it represents

I been wondering how you and your family was doing Purple? How is your son doing? Adjusting to life after football? Good luck to your Mountaineers this season!

If it's the two I'm thinking of they where some good athletes! Are y'all returning all your O-line. They really impressed me last year against Robbinsville. I thought their line was the best in the SMC and y'all handles them pretty well.
We return defensive player of the year at linebacker but lost the other two. Our line will miss one key player but I feel good about them overall baring no injuries. I think we will be pretty tough. Having another runner in backfield will be huge

Did Mitchell put down a turf field? If so, that is a real shame. It makes me want to hurl every time I see one of those. Football is meant to be played on real grass and not that fake crap. Natural grass is the only way to go.
I agree wholeheartedly, but with the state giving the grants to put turf down it didn’t give anyone else with grass much choice.

Turf saves time on field maintenance and allows for much more use. Back in the 70's when I was in junior high, Tuscola would make us move games across the street to the Death Valley field if it was raining/wet. Even then the CEW Stadium field usually looked like crap by the end of October. Now with up to a dozen different teams using the stadium in a school year, there is no way a grass field would survive in the mountains. With the heat and better growing season down east, I'd much rather have grass there.

Playing on Turf is also a leg injury waiting to happen. Just look at the data. Alot of pro soccer teams refuse to play on it.
Pro teams have the financial resources to finance top of the line natural surfaces and maintain them.
