If it’s wet it’s gonna take a lot of air out of the ball for Draughn…. Definitely helps Mitchell I would think.
Depends on how two of the RB are coming off or still with the flu plus out of the others I don't if it affected any of the lineman which this game will come down to the line scrimmage.

To each Veteran on this thread thank you, Hope each of you has a Happy Veteran’s Day. Hope both teams have a injury free game.
I’ll second that. A huge shoutout and thank you to each and every one who has served and fought on our country’s behalf as well as our own. We owe a debt that we can’t repay to you folks. Thank you Veterans for making the sacrifice it takes to be a soldier. Utmost respect to you all.

True. Hope everyone is feeling better by tonight. It may be a blessing in disguise with all the rain for Mitchell though. Being able to key on the running game a little more and focus on stopping it certainly is one less thing to think about.

Well I wanted the bad weather just wish we didn't have a bunch of sick kids, prayers for em that this weather don't make em worse sick, I think the passing game is out for both teams
I don’t think it is because the QB has really big hands and has practiced with throwing wet balls most of the offseason in training. I anticipate draughn to play their game which is balanced offense no matter if it’s raining or not

I expect everyone to play for Mitchell but dang sure not at 100 percent. I would think all this sickness has affected practice as well, but I still think they have a shot.
Well the only positive as far as the sick boys who couldn't practice they already know this team very well not only film but playing them and this time of year they know their assignments etc very well. The thing they needed the most this week was rest. I'm just more concerned about their strength even if they've gotten thru the worse the flu leaves you washed out.
I'm glad though in the last few games they've gotten more players involved younger players have been stepping up which hopefully will fill some of the gaps.

Heading to check in on the Hype train I’m hearing about in valdese. Any good places to eat out that way?
If you're coming down 40, there's Carolina Smoke BBQ, Long Horn, Las Salsas right off exit 105 in Morganton. Timberwoods (homestyle cooking) off exit 106. In Town of Valdese (Exit 112) you have Twin Brothers Pizza, Los Compadres, & 100 Main. In Rutherford College (Exit 113) you have JD's Smokehouse & Jessica's.

If I go to this game I don't dread the weather as much as that announcer.
I realize of course any home announcer is bias and should be but besides his irritating voice can't stand the over the top ones like saying a players name say John Smith going Joooohn Smiiiiiiith!!!
Our announcer barely raises he's voice when saying that's Mountaineer first down just calls the game same level tone always professional.
And the reason for not possibly going is health issues not anything else.

I encourage my Cougar fans to support Mitchell tonight and whomever wins tonight should get our support throughout the playoffs. I got pissed with some WHC fans with inferior talent dissing Mitchell. Draughn is a damn good team and I respect that program but don’t have much of a bond with them yet. Go WHC!
After watching that game last night I believe the winner has a good shot at beating Thomasville if Swain had any offense they would have beaten them.

A fb live broadcast on Big Red Sports from Draughn field just said the field condition under the tarp looks pretty decent. Unfortunately the heaviest rain they've seen all day just hit the area.

Looks like on radar it's going to rain right upto kickoff. I wonder how close to the teams warm ups they can wait to take it off.

If that was the case or rule that they can't play because it's a holiday weekend then why were the two teams even discussing it?I would assume they know the rules. I don't why dpi would care if you played a game Saturday after Veterans Day.
Thursday for some reason seems to be the go to for bad weather on Friday, the first game was on a Thursday for the same reason and it wasn't a holiday weekend.
Did you see any team in the state change to Saturday night? BC alot did during regular season. Why not this weekend veterans day.

They could have played Saturday but I heard Draughn’s coach declined
Just saw youth league playoffs are slated to be played at Draughn tomorrow. Saw they got pushed back 2 hours. I can’t imagine the field will be in any shape for games tomorrow after tonight’s battle.

I hope it is Mitchell to see how things go this year. As for Swain, they are a pretty solid team but never really were in the game once the Dogs scored 14. The Bulldogs swarmed the ball and made big plays in the game. The Swain QB was running for his life most of the night and the big RB #13 was held in check. The Dogs had heard all week that they were no better or not coached better than WSP and that fueled the fire for them. They played physical, fast and got the win.

Is the Draughn-Mitchell game online tonight?
