It's really fascinating to watch. Someone posts Mitchell is down to his final two, but the teams are not identified. The usual suspects, "insiders" who are not really insiders, post that we are not in the top two. Then they and other posters run over to NJ.com to throw this information into the comments, reported as fact, to attract the Syracuse and Penn State trolls. Rinse and repeat with every prospect.

If we get him, I'm confident in landing the Camden boys. Let's go get some leaders

It would really be great to see south jersey kids step up and take this program . I always thought it would be the northern kids since the north favors rut a bit more. Ahmir, the Camden crew and Harmon should just step up and take this place over.

Actually, I know some people that are close to the situation and their opinion is..."we have no idea what Mitchell is going to do".
Anyone that tries to predict what these players are going to do is kidding themselves. The kids themselves will sometimes tell a close friend or relative what they plan and then the very next day, they are saying something else. I think some of the guys who are close to the players learned a lesson and instead of trying to tell us where and when a kid may commit, they just try to share what information they have at that moment and what they are allowed to share.
As I have mentioned a few times. The evening before Kevin called Coach Schiano to commit, his mother, his HS Coach and I took him to dinner so he could tell us first. If you had polled the 3 of us, we would have only been batting .333

I have a feeling that MITCHELL is going to be the guy that steps up as the leader of his class and commits to Rutgers and starts the tidal wave of other recruits who pull the trigger and join the wave with Mitchell.

People seem to forget, but just 2 YEARS ago for the class of 2014 with Saeed Blacknall leading the pack... Rutgers had a STUD class who verbally committed. Flood has the ability to gather top recruiting classes in the country all he needs is that 1 or 2 kids to be leaders. Because I would say some recruits have that feeling in their hearts that Rutgers is the place for them, but they are waiting for that top notch recruit to commit which would then confirm to them that Rutgers is the place for them as well.

And what is up with so many posters making cl "aims without providing the links. That is so obvious BS so I don't know why they waste their times with that. And honestly I don't know why the forum even responds to those posters because it is so silly.

If they really did have "legit" inside info you would think they would at least explain or hint WHY they have access to inside info that other people do not. They wouldn't just post "Sorry guys Mitchell is going to Ohio State!" or other random stuff like that.

We don't appear to be in his top 2. How we dropped from leader to out of contention I don't know. Maybe things will change but we seem to be out.

^ to the guy above, where did you hear this? Is this from the private forum, or from someone else? That being said, I'm done reading about recruits visiting RU if true. We here how all of these guys are "excited" about RU too frequently

Some posters on here make you dislike some of the recruits because the posters "claim" to have inside info that is misleading.

Ohio st won't accept his commitment at this time but it really is blowing my mind how we were the supposed "leader" a week ago & now not in contention so were we really ever his leaders?

There was a post on the Rutgers Scout Premium Board last night from Scout reporter Brian Dohn called "Friday night Mitchell update". That post has since been locked, but assume that is where the info that Mitchell was down to OSU and Michigan came from.

There is info from Brian Dohn on the Michigan scout board also. There is also information from a reliable Michigan insider who doesn't exactly make stuff up. Doesn't mean they are always entirely accurate when looking back on things (sometimes there is more to the story they don't know) but they go on what they are told from people inlvonved and aren't in the business of just speculating (well they make it clear when it is a guess vs.saying they were told something). I speculte though and my guess is tOSU....but to be clear I only know what I've read on boards and that's it.

Did scout actually talk to Mitchell yesterday and collect this information, or are they making an educated guess based off the fact that his last two visits were OSU and Michigan (like every other recruiting analyst at every other "insider" website is doing)?

I predicted OSU personally, but this insider story doesnt seem to add up. The sources seem rather tenuous.

I'll believe it when I see it. Nothing about it on Michigan Scout.

Pretty sure the OSU offer is one of those Urban Meyer non commitable at this time types, since he would rather have a 5 star (Auburn decommit). I see nothing in the OTB article that should rule out Michigan. If the kid wants to decide now it could be Jim Harbaugh vs. Kyle Flood, each bidding to kick start their 2016 class, unless Urban finds out it is Harbaugh in the lead and that forces his hand. Urb's hates losing to anybody but losing to Michigan is borderline intolerable. This one won't be over till February, in any event.

Agreed, even if he committed somewhere tomorrow it's easy to see his recruitment still being in play.

Seriously...the article doesn't say that really...you talk talk speculation and that is all that article does. You said that there is nothing on the Michigan scout board about this and that is not true. The thread is still there and pinned. It was started by the publisher of the site and on the premium board.

I'm not going to pretend I know something first hand. I just read what I read. The kid could end up choosing Monmouth college. What I do know is that what I read is going on what certain people believe is credible info...and that they have first hand access to these people....I also know they would be the first to admit that things change quickly in recruiting and sometimes "sources" don't have the complete story...so bottom line is we'll find out

Huh? Article says this:"With Mitchell's latest tweet and the tweet from Tyler Donohue, one can presume his final two schools are Rutgers and either Ohio State or Michigan." Sounds like this article is saying RU still in it.
And I looked through many pages on the Mich scout forum and could not find this thread-go ahead and link it, I'm for that...

A lot of hot air so far about RU being cut without anything to confirm presented yet.

So basically you called out the OTB article for just speculating and then you proceed to admit that you yourself are just speculating? I still dont get how your info is any more solid than the info posted in the OTB article. Donahue just spoke to the kid as the article indicated. How is that just "talk, talk speculation"?

Stadium and main is the free board...I clearly said premium...if you need me to be more clear the thread was started by Sam Webb
..the publisher of the site and is on the victors club which again is the premium board

It is there and I'm sure they have some free trial offer or something if you want to check. Either way, what you want to believe is up to you. I'm not a source...just a reader of them

Yes I do speculate because I'm have no direct inside info on the situation...I read what insiders say...and try to do my best of putting the pieces together

Thanks anyway for the free premium trial tip, but while a long-time diehard RU fan, I'm not that worried about a particular high schooler's college choice overall, and especially now when it's much too early for anything to be considered a done deal. In the meantime I'll wait until there is a verifiable update about this that is free to read.

So much talk about a recruit that we might have 33% chance of a commitment. We didn't do this for every recruit in the past before Flood. Too much hope

Agreed X2. Some of you guys just can't wait to slap Flood around. We are a long way from February 2016.

It doesn't. Two goofballs on this thread said it with no evidence. It brings to mind the scene from Silverado where Dawson, (played by James Gammon better known as Lou Brown in Major League) says, "I think there's just a couple of guys up there and this ******* is one of them."

Obviously a few Ped St trolls are bs'ing their way through this thread--Lion8286 of course is a Nit guy or gal. The vague references to some info on premium or locked sites are ridiculous. Any real news like this on a high visibility NJ recruit would be public knowledge around here by now.

Why would it be a reflection of the staff? If true, it's probably a reflection of the rapidly changing opinions of a 17 year old.
Exactly. Its never the fault of the people paid to convince kids to come here when they dont come here. Always the fickleness of teenagers or whatever.
