Mitch Moreland

[DAWG61]

top 9th pinch-hit rbi double. Is Moreland a top 5 all-time MSU MLB bulldog? Just talking MLB career.

1. Palmeiro
2. Clark
3. Papelbon
4. Moreland?
5. Thigpen?

Who else possibly?

He played a long time ago (1920's & 30's), but Buddy Myer is pretty clearly the 3rd best hitter/fielder from State to play in MLB.

Won AL Batting and Stolen Base titles, 2 time All Star, over 2,100 hits and a .303 career average (same as Clark). He was even considered a possible HOFer by the Veterans Committee through the years.

Boo Ferris should be up there also.

Mitch is up there but hes not top 5

[Predestined]

Showalter. You said career.

[ezsoil]

Jake Mangum has to be in the mix as well he was here for four years and OWNED the Rebs .....and for one season....Rooker was almost storybook and Bulldog Bruce had a heck of a year in 1981.

[Bobby Ricigliano]

MLB career is the question.

[Bobby Ricigliano]

You talking about as a manager?

[She Mate Me]

To clarify, the question was Bulldogs with the best MLB careers.

[ezsoil]

Oops sorry....Del Unser had a 14 year career and his pinch hits in the 1980 World Series were crucial

Don't forget Alex Grammas--played SS and was a manager.
