Very little to do about people getting sick. It's more about lawsuits. Welcome to America's hyper-litigious society. Hell, a person that got it on a cruise ship and was placed in quarantine at a military base had already sued the cruise line before she even got home.

If I'm willing to accept the risks, why can't I go to the game Saturday? Is it to protect the staff? I'm not being a smartass. Genuinely curious.

I don’t think there is any ground for lawsuits, when you buy a ticket you assume all risks. It’s printed on the ticket.

How do you know this? Epidemiologists have been recommending social distancing for some time. What do you know that they don't and do you think using the word "pandemonium" makes your opinion more reasonable than guidelines issued by experts? I heard someone say something similar in Walmart and with conviction although he didn't appear to have read much epidemiology or know much about ways a novel virus attacks an immune system. A lot of people really need to be less certain about some of their opinions. I hope we slow the rate of transmission of this virus. I also hope we follow the practical advice of genuinely knowledgeable people.

Imagine how badly people are gonna freak out when the death toll catches up to last years flu numbers. Which was only 5x as many deaths. But hey....let's lose our minds

I assume this was voted down due to flagrant rationality.

Because you might accept the risks, but the five people you unknowingly pass the virus on to at Kroger a week later didn’t accept the same risks.

But what if i have plenty of toilet paper?

I do too. Along with a toilet seat keeping itself as warm or cool as I select, it squirts warm to cold, as I select to my preference, water on my *** and sprays warm to cold, as I select to my preference, air on my *** to dry it. So what the hell did I buy all this toilet paper for? Oh, and I **** in a bag from my gut. So, again, what did I buy these 143.5 cases of toilet paper for? I guess my allergies could act up...

If it's this serious then why are we not cancelling games or the rest of the season?

When they step back and look at what they've done so far I think they'll realize they should have just shut it down and that will happen in the not too distant future.

A ridiculous precedent has been set. We are in for some ludicrous reactions in the future. The data being used is bad data we really have no idea how many are infected because we are not testing for COVID19 widespread. Yes they can test for coronovirus more easily, but heads up 4 of the 7 strains are just the common cold! One MARS and the other is SARS (the first iteration). For those who don't know COVID is SARS 2.0. So this "pandemic" may be a few cases of true COVID and many cases of Coronovirus. Who is dying from this, elderly, chronic lung disease (stop smoking/vaping) and immuno compromised. The data as poor as it is doesn't seem to show significant problems in kids with this virus. Many more children die from the flu than most likely will die from this. But the above mentioned cohort as they do with flu may get very ill or die. And only about 50% of the population gets flu vaccines! So why the outcry for a vaccine so half the population won't take the COVID vaccine? No I'm not a epidemiologist but I'm a front line ER physician. And this is also in line with the information we are getting. Flame away, COVID chicken littles!

So what's causing the problems in Italy ? The hospitals are overwhelmed and a high percentage of sick folks are dying. That hardly seems like a common cold. Please understand I'm just asking because I admittedly don't understand all that I'm hearing/seeing.

If we are actually able to flatten the curve (remains to be seen) and not completely overwhelm the USA medical system, all the boogereaters are going to say "See! It wasn't even that bad!"

Perhaps because it isn't going to be? And those who are buying into the Hysteria will say wow we sure did stop it.

The Italians are concerned that troubling symptoms are taking longer to manifest in infected younger people. That would not be good.

Yea and it doesn't matter what age people overwhelmed a health care system...the fact remains it is still overwhelmed and that ends up affecting everyone. There are more than enough older folks in this country to overload our system also.

I just dont know how anyone can be so confident that people who actually study this **** are so wrong in their trending predictions.
And it confuses me as to why the collective view from those experts would be ignored after the fact. If it ends up not being a big issue due to the measures enacted early on, experts will cite that and why would they be ignored/wrong?

Its just such an absurd approach to take.

Experts who have been studying this are almost all wrong. I guess they're wrong because I haven't actually read anything. Instead, I heard some dude who may or may not have finished high school call into a talk radio show say something I agree with politically and he also said this was like a cold or the flu. That's all the truth I need to express with utmost confidence that this ain't nothin' to worry about.
