I was born in 1970. We have won 4 titles in those 56 years. People on here act like we use to win ever year. Everyone sucks Adolf Rupp off, but he won 4 titles in 42 years. Since Rupp's run in the late 40s and 50s,other than 1996-1998, we have not dominated college basketball outside of Calipari, and he only won one. This isn't the 40s and 50s anymore. While we have the most wins, we have not been more dominant winning titles like you all act. Plus, the entire culture of college sports has changed. There was a time where we were getting all of the players. There was a time when UCLA was getting all of the players. Now, plenty of teams have billionaires buying players, and outside of of one coal guy, we don't have huge boosters. Plus, I've read here where most of you say you are not willing to donate. You just want us to have a great team. The tide has turned and we will not compete for championships in basketball and football unless we are able to buy the players others are buying, plus keep them healthy.

I don't think anyone expects a title annually, but UK should be in the conversation pretty much every year. Remember when this graph was going around CBB fan circles? You could make one that looks very similar for elite eights. On the whole we've been the most consistently successful program in college basketball. Kentucky has not been to an Elite Eight since 2019. The six-year Elite Eight drought is the longest in school history.

And I don't think this is about expecting a title every year. At least for me, it's about being competitive. Being at least in the conversation for a title most years.
7 seeds are not in the conversation for a national championship. And u know what .......you could live with it for a year or two.....but the prospects aren't looking good for the future. You have to recruit. Pope cannot recruit. At least he hasn't shown that ability yet.
