Program changing in the sense that how many times over the past decade have we seen our team getting pummeled and just lie down and take the beating? How many teams did we see plays like harpers foul and montez’s push when were down 20? These kids care and when the upperclassmen see the freshman stepping up and answering the call like that, it pushes them because they know if they dont wake up and toughen up these freshman are gonna take their jobs. The level has been raised, the bar changed

Who got down the floor first the entire 2nd half on the Minnesota side.

You know, I thought about that. But bac gives notes after every game. And kyk is not a newbie. My .02 .

But a fair point

Just resolve it between the two of them. Two recap threads are not necessary. I think bac has been at this for awhile but whatever the bigger point is only one thread is necessary.

We both make a postgame thread every game pretty much this year so far. Mine is my quick 5 points, his is more of a story

Ok. I had not realized that. Still I think a single threat would integrate discussion. FWIW.

And I hope you know I was not trying to stir the pot...

Maybe we should have multiple game threads too. If you have a particular point or two to make and think it warrants its own thread then fine but that is not what is going on here.

I’m still holding on before judging Kiss. First, forget mensah as he was a disaster. Kiss has been in a terrible slump and you can say the same about Issa. I still believe Kiss can turn it around and we have 15 more Big 10 games to see it. The kid can shoot but he seems to have lost confidence. He’s going to keep fighting. I could be wrong but I’m going to remain patient with him.

Rutgers can play with anyone in the conference except maybe Michigan. Winning on the road is never going to be easy. There always seems to to be one or two players on every team who has their way with Rutgers and it’s not that other teams really stop them as well. I think they overcome it by matching the scoring of those one or two players. That’s our problem right now. We don’t have a star go to scorer. Next game of course we worry about Carson Edwards.

Myles Johnson really impressed me against Minnesota and I love when him and Shaq Carter player together. God forbid, Kiss, Baker, McConnell and Mathis were all hitting from the outside?

I hope McConnell gets back quickly. I don’t think the Omuyuri injury is a good thing but it gets some other players more experience. This team didn’t blown out by Minnesota. We lost by 18 but in my opinion this was about a 10 point loss. Things spiraled away very late in the game but we never laid down.

1) Minny just too athletic for us at this point in the build. Tez, harper and mcconnell along with geo and mulcahy in a couple years will be able to run with these type of teams.

2) the culture is changing. Montez and harper are our two toughest players as freshman and caleb is in the top 3 along with them. Pike has recruited tough kids, who care about winning and dont take crap from anyone. Were in for some fun years ahead but were just not there yet. Montez and ron are really coming into their own too. Montez is getting to the tin and ron is starting to see more shots fall.

3) Geo was out of control today and downright awful. Too many fade aways, too many turnovers and unfortunately with caleb going down we couldnt really yank him. He tried to do way too much. Who wouldve thought 2 months ago that if caleb went down wed be saying that was a huge loss? Hope calebs back soon.

4) the bigs looked pretty good today. Between all of them, they were all pretty good. On the defensive end they didnt have their best day though, alot of that falls on them wanting to stay out of foul trouble with the lack of depth in the front court.

5) need to remove kiss and issa from the rotation. Theyre really providing zero on the offensive and defensive end. Next year I doubt they get off the bench other than garbage time.

All in all today was a program changing game despite the loss. Our FRESHMAN, stepped up and played hard and stood up for the name on the front of the jersey. I love it. This is gonna be an exciting few years ahead
Just wanna bump this post. Watching tonight and seeing montez jawing with that little prick Smart and then Cliff getting up and standing up for himself is another one of those, were not taking any **** moments. January 12 2019 loss to Minny was the moment I knew this was a special group after how hard we fought at the end and played with a nastiness and tenacity.

Who remembers this?

And where is Washington now? I thought he was on Iona last year but I didn't notice him this season on Iona. Is he still there? I remember Seton Hall wanted him so bad and he committed to Minnesota.

Yup glad you found that I loved watching that when it happened. Cause you could see then that the talent was there, they were just too young and a few pieces away from putting it all together. But what stood out was that he was bringing in dudes who just absolutely HATED losing and weren’t gunna accept it or take **** from anyone. We now have a full squad of talented guys who all have that killer mentality and it’s starting to show.
