Minnesota's comeback

Kind of unlikely, actually.

• First, they make some incredible catches in a drive at the end of the first half, and then pull off a completely unexpected two-point PAT.
• Nebraska runs out of time in an attempt to get off a FG before halftime.
• Minnesota breaks off a 69-yard tunnel screen.
• Nebraska's next possession is interrupted three times —lengthy interruptions at that — including by an unlikely intentional grounding call and the subsequent confusion about what down it is.
• Minnesota converts a third-and-10 on a nine-yard gain in the next TD drive. Huh? Yep. Oh, and the double-reverse Hail Mary.

Luckily, the Huskers didn't fold in the face of that adversity, and re-commenced the blowout on the next possession.

Non of those officials should have collected a pay check yesterday....

Never in my whole life have ever seen a worse intentional grounding on a play that the TE cuts off his route and the QB over throw’s the receiver by 20 yards and then they couldn’t even get the right down correct afterthought lame penalty that was a first down play....

As i said yesterday, i fully expect to see intentional grounding called any time the QB throws a ball into the stands or out of bounds from the pocket. It was a distrubing, wierd, nonsensical call.

When you're at best an average team, those are the kind of things that will happen. Especially when you have Dedrick Young trying to cover a screen play. The game's never over until it's over.

2. The Double reverse 40 yard completion was insane. Nebraska actually hit the QB as he was throwing the ball. It really limited the trajectory of the pass. In fact, if he doesn't get hit, I'm pretty sure he is off target by 20 yards.

If you take away the miracle catch and throw, We are talking about a 32 point beatdown.

The is it 2nd down or 3rd down debate was essentially a whose on first routine. I’ve never seen anything like it.

The bad part is they happened still, and plays like that have plagued us this year. We are getting better, but that was terrible safety play on the reverse pass, and I have no idea what dedrick was doing on that tunnel screen.

The tunnel screen worked because of poor play by our defense. Guys couldn't get off blocks. Bootle tried to go underneath his blocker instead of over the top. I think everyone saw Young take a poor angle and Williams did as well. It was very poor play by our defense on that play.

On the second play, if Young was better he would have had an opportunity to disrupt that play much earlier. He was in good position, but then just kind of stood there and didn't pressure the qb. Also I think Neal was the only guy to see the guy on the wheel route. He probably should have had help but didn't and didn't make the play.

So yes, those are two big plays our defense needed to play much better to stop.

After watching it again, we had a lot of lady luck on our side. They were down deep in our end a few times and came away with no points. We also had some players make some plays including guys like Young. It just seems most of our issues start with the dline.
