Would there be any doubt he plays? It always works like that with us. Until I officially see he is out he is playing.

If Geo and RHJ lead us and play well,
It doesn’t matter if Robbins plays....we win.
If both aren’t solidly in double digits we lose.
Simple
well.. like last year.. we have other players who can go for 20.. but its rare.. Young, mathis, McConnel (who hasn't done that this year yet.. he is due)

Tez 4

Time for Geo to stop deferring to others and take the ball.
I like the one and one game with Geo at the top of the key, he’s in control.
Drives to hoop with option to dish to cutting Harper or Harper on the wing.
Over play he can dish to Myles
He’s got the drive, the pull up jumper, the step back 3 and the dish, or RJH in the corner.
Do not let Tez, Paul or Jacob handle the ball when you’re doing this, completely stagnants us and makes us one dimensional....once they over play it...do something different

Problem is he has many games where he shoots it at a below average clip AND he requires a dribble too much which hurts the flow of an offense.

the other to research....is Geo more apt to have his better games against teams that aren’t great defensively

20 games...10 wins and 10 losses (1st 3 games dont count)

Myles in wins 9.9PPG
Myles in losses 6.9PPG

Jacob 13.7 PPG in wins
Jacob 14.2 PPG in losses

Ron (total) 17.9 PPG in wins
Ron (total) 11.6 PPG in losses

Ron (post injury) 13.3 in wins
Ron (post injury) 10.7 in losses

Geo 13.8 in wins
Geo 8.0 in losses

74.6 PPG in wins
61.7 PPG in losses

So you take that differential of 12.9 that is actually less than 13.1 of just Geo and Ron

Take the middle 4 games (chop 3 best and 3 worst)

79-74-74-74 75.25 in wins
67-66-64-59 64.0 in losses

Figure Minn. to be lights out from 3.
Feels that way. I watched the start of the Nebraska v Iowa game last night and they had some wide open 3’s that were missed badly. That’s the way this game goes. It’s also really hard to come back when down double digits. Doing it twice in a row would have been incredible. I fully expected us to lose that game by halftime whereas I felt we had the energy against Indiana and knew we would at least make it close. The 50/50 balls were awful vs Nebraska. Even the few we got our hands on got deflected and ended up with the bad guys. I would say we lost 90% of the 50/50 balls and that is being generous. Game over.

Doesn’t matter if he plays of not. Carr can score 40 and beat us by himself. We’ll probably know in the first 5 minutes of the game whether the team feels like playing or have packed it in.

Maybe my memory is bad. Please let me know if I have this wrong.

When over the past 2 years (40+ Real games) did we get beat because the star of the team went off and couldnt be stopped.

more often than not it is a secondary guy.

Georgi Illinois
#11 Nebraska

Last year it was Lamar Stevens was the guy we had to stop and Isiah Brockington beat us

Game 2 this year Garza got his points but it was Weiskamp that beat us

I think our trio beats Carr’s 40.

We did a very nice job on Carr in the 2nd half of the 1st game. But, concentrating on him opens up things for some secondary guys to have career nights like the Nebraska guy did.

its really not about Minnesota, its about Rutgers, if we play a ****** game coming out unfocused like we did at least 6 games this year, we will lose, if we cannot take advantage of a wounded team with a bunch of experienced junior and senior leadership with an NCAA bid on the line then we do not deserve to be a tournament team

It was frustrating to watch the Nebraska-Iowa game and see Nebraska bricking all of the shots they were burying against us. But Iowa played fantastic defense in this game that we didn't come close to matching when we played Nebraska. All those back door cuts they got against us were snuffed out by Iowa. It was super frustrating because we were basically evenly matched when we played Iowa at the RAC. Now they look like a final 4 team while we look like a team that doesn't deserve to be in the tournament.

I only watched the first 5 minutes and Nebraska had 10 wide open 3’s. When those are bricks you don’t have to overplay the 3 and that takes away the back door cuts.

A week or two ago Iowa looked very beatable. We had our chances the first tine we played them and the second time we got hosed. I don’t fear Iowa in a fairly called game which is what we wild see in the tournament. I fear our own shooting and our own shooting alone. When we are hitting a high % we look great, a medium % and we can grind out wins. If we hit nothing we look like we did vs Nebraska and how Nebraska looked vs Iowa.

I agree he often tends to dribble too much. Screws everything up.

Baby,
Is this not just a long version of “if our best players play to their potential we win”
I’m talking about this game tomorrow?
