He's done a good job in a tough conference. He beats Nebraska a lot, but so would St. Mary's Academy for Young Ladies in Bozeman, Montana.
That’s actually good for Iowa.
Minny's D has gotten pretty good during Fleck's tenure. I think he's an okay coach, but his persona is not my thing.
I assume he got a decent raise. Hopefully enough to cover him and his wife's cosmetics surgeries.
Fleck, like most people, has his own personality. Some people like him. Some people don't. His players seem to enjoy playing for him. He seems to be honest and seems to work hard. Many of my friends and relatives have tatoos. I don't, but tatoos have been pretty mainstream for awhile and, as long as we still have some semblance of freedom in this country, you can get a tatoo or not. It's a personal choice, as it should be.
I see no reason to take personal shots at a Big Ten coach who puts a competitve team on the field, abides by the rules, and coaches his own way. But that's probably just me.

Just some context. Some incredible officiating (outside their actual job description, by reofficiating a play they were not even reviewing for, not something they are allowed to do by the way), allowed Fleck his ONLY win vs Kirk. Just sayin.....
I don’t personally like the guy’s shtick but I don’t know how anyone could say that Fleck has been a bad hire at Minnesota. He has succeeded pretty well despite a lackadaisical fanbase as well as a fickle and sometimes hostile TC press. Pay the man.

boosters are now funneling money to players and having the cash on hand to buyout coaches might not be what it once was.
I also think long extensions for coaches to let recruits know they are committed is a complete waste of time. An athlete will leave any time the money is right.

Rules will be changing in the next few years. There will be player contracts.
Nobody complains about their sports teams more than MInnesotans. Fleck has the best winning % of any Gopher coach in last 75 years.
Everything i've been reading from what courts/lawmakers and the universities is not going that direction
When NIL (income earned by Athletes from private entities ) gets limited in a court case and withstands appeal at the highest level you might have something.
Won't need to. Employment contracts with the university will be binding and won't let them depart annually like now.
