What happened to him at Indiana? He was a great midmajor coach.

He recruited some top kids but just couldn’t put it all together. I think the 5 star recruits can be tricky because they don’t stay for more than 2 years and it’s tough to build enough around them.

They shoot for the stars on recruits, but frankly they are just a bunch of athletes. They never really seemed to have an identity. Athletes win every now and again, but need to have teams to win consistently.

True. And some of their one and dones were overrated: Romeo Langford.

Pick 14 in 2019 - just a horrible pick. Basically a walking injury. Don't think he'd be doing anything for them anyway if he was perfectly healthy.

I didn’t realize he went as high as 14.

I don't know. I watch every Indiana BB game. Thought there were many times, Coach Miller was in over his head. What works at Dayton doesn't necessarily mean it works at Indiana. Thought his recruiting was good with 3 Mr. Indiana's in a row.

Thought Miller was the opposite of Crean. Consistent themes were Miller's teams focused on pack-line defense with zero thought to offensive flow. Transition game on offense was non-existent, outside shooting was atroucious; free throw shooting was miserable year after year and the Turn Overs, possession after possession, were enough to drive any basketball fan away from the TV. Contrast that with Crean who only cared about offense and had teams who couldn't guard a stationary armchair. Both not winning formulas, however, I give Crean credit for winning a Big Ten title in recent memory.
