If you talk to coaches and if they are being honest and have a choice to play Illinois or OSU who do you think they are going to pick. Today on College game day everyone just picked South Carolina to beat Illinois in next week’s bowl game. Yeah I will keep thinking this way until they prove otherwise.
Well if they picked against them in Gameday then it must be true 🙄

A little check up on the big man, now at UNC. Shows as LT2 for his redshirt sophomore season. Saw a video and the guys said Belicheck wants guys who can buy beer to play OL. He brought in nine OL, almost all were long-time starters elsewhere. I think OL is the hardest spot to break through early in a career. As noted in the speed thread, some guys maintain their speed but add muscle. But for the big-boys, it is all about brute strength and power. Men will always beat boys.

Saw something else interesing, Miles is just 19. Can't buy beer for a while. He is also trying to transform his body from Bubba to Brutus. I expect big things from him by the time it is all said and done.

Trayvon Green - Junior Transfer, Returning contributor, Left Tackle In Front of McVay. 2024 - Sophomore Season: Appeared and started all 13 games during the 2024 campaign. 2023 - Redshirt Freshman Season; Appeared in all 13 games - a valuable squad member who provided depth on the offensive line.

IN — OL Jakai Moore — South Carolina
Jakai Moore, a 6-foot-6, 315-pound offensive lineman, appeared in 44 games with 28 starts for South Carolina over the last six seasons. He made 13 starts at left tackle, seven at left guard, four at right guard and four at right tackle.

IN — OL Will O’Steen — Jacksonville State
Jacksonville State offensive lineman Will O'Steen has played more than 2,500 snaps in his career across 37 games, according to Pro Football Focus. O'Steen played 981 snaps in 14 games for the Gamecocks last season at left tackle. He finished with an offensive grade of 78.7. O'Steen started on the offensive line in each of the last three seasons for Jacksonville State. He redshirted his freshman year in 2021. O'Steen, listed at 6-foot-4 and 290 pounds, first signed with Jacksonville State out of Anniston (A.L.) White Plains High School.

Daniel King - Senior transfer • Played three seasons on the offensive line at Troy • Earned All-Sun Belt Conference honors following the 2023 and 2024 seasons • Allowed only nine sacks in 1,396 pass blocking snaps for his career at Troy • Was a team captain and played both tackle and guard •

William Boone - Senior transfer • A transfer from Prairie View A&M, who previously attended Kilgore College and New Mexico Military Institute • Played in 11 games for Prairie View A&M in 2024 at offensive tackle.

He better be ready for a huge paycut at NIU

No, but in the earlier part of this thread his NIL money was discussed. I believe it read he was getting well over $1M to go to UNC. If he plans to go to NIU, he's going to be getting around 5% of that. Hence a big pay cut.

I didn't mean you I meant Crusader 90. He got 1 million in NIL money to go to a school to be a backup? He hasn't even panned out yet on this level and he's a millionaire? This is why I like high school....and it's not a knock on this individual it's the whole College system now it's outta control between the portal and NIL.

It's the Wild Wild West for sure, but some of it's fun. Like the OL at NIU get a free meal at Fatty's once a week, lol.

I know I'm in the minority here but I love the system now and im ok with the "chaos" that it brings. Granted, if I was still coaching id probably hate it. But all this money being thrown around sort of shows everyone what was out there before and what the athletes are really worth to the universities and communities.

I have no idea how much he got paid ... but it was more than I made waiting tables and washing 18-wheelers.

When he was in high school, I thought for sure he would: start at least 2 years at Alabama, win a National Championship, then go to the NFL.

He was 4-stars, rated 12th best IOL in Class of 2023.

The path he has taken is a little surprising.

A change in coaches at Bama to a guy who like tall, lithe OLs ... so he went to play for Belichek and he earned PT at the end of the year, getting 47 and 41 snaps in the last two games at both guard and tackle. And as we all know, UNC is a mess - so he is jumping ship because he can.

Keep in mind, he just turned 20 - he started school a year early!

As for as the draft, in the past 10 years, the average age of a drafted NFL offensive or defensive lineman is approximately 22 to 23 years old.
Players in the "trenches" tend to be slightly older than other positions when drafted, often a little over 22 years old. Plus, consider the COVID-19 Impact: More recent draft classes have seen a temporary increase in the average age of prospects due to the extra year of college eligibility granted by the pandemic, with the 2024 class averaging about 23.24 years old overall.

This kept draftable players in college longer, making it tougher to earn a starting spot.

Who knows, he may never amount to much ... or he may. He has two years of eligibility left to show what he's worth.

Let's assume two years starting in the SEC amd mostly records clean sheets. Miles could still play on Sundays.
