I love this. AS much as people don't want to admit it. Feeling sorry for him and all the sunshine stuff won't work. If Pope want's to be the head coach of Kentucky, he's gotta know people are out for him. He's gotta "join the dark side" so to speak lol. It's a good thing that Pope is going through the struggles.

last years roster was ranked so high assuming everyone was healthy and played to their potential. That didn’t happen. Hopefully it does this year.
I just don’t think anything will change Pope’s perception with recruits.
As for being starved, we’ve basically sucked (by our standards) for nearly a decade. I’d rather go ahead and suck another year to force the coaching change than to have to put up with 2+ more years of Pope’s mediocrity just because he squeaks out an average year and maybe a sweet 16 this year. If I didn’t 100% feel that Pope has zero chance to win a title here then I’d probably follow your line of thinking but im just done with it at this point. The only way I’d want Pope back another year is if he wins a title next year. Even if he just makes a final four I don’t want him back unless he already has a top 3 class committed by the time we make that final four.
It all comes down to recruiting with Pope and he’s pretty firmly the worst recruiter in Kentucky history. Keeping him will just be going into each year with rosters not talented enough to be legit contenders and having to pray we make some lucky run in the tournament. I’m not putting up with that. We already have to live that way with football. I’ll be damned if I have to deal with that in the sport we are supposed to be the best at.
