Dude, give it a rest. We got our guy. Be happy for at least 5 minutes. Damn.

I cant ask the question? Even after I said I was glad we got him?

Ill tell you this, if you cant handle a few very well articulated points about not overspending for players.. you dont want to see what I post if this inevitably does nothing because Pope cant coach, we're down $8mil and now we helped buy Pope more time as a lame duck coach.

it does. Man if we could have got Wright to go along with Wilkins and Mom. I’d be feeling really good. I hope Zoom turns out to be pretty good. I do like his build at least. He can play in the SEC.
We might have dodged a bullet missing on Wright. Some smoke.

Duke, UL, Florida, Michigan, UT, Illinois, SJ, UCONN, etc
UT is wing heavy and doesn't have a P5 caliber C. Kepnang would start for them. Also not sure I trust Rick Barnes with that roster, but that's a different story.

Name anyone on UConn's bench that scares you. Khamenia, Jayden Ross, Najai Hines, Silas Demary, Braylon Mullins is a starting 5 with 2 dudes (one of whom got outplayed by Alex Wilkins in the tournament) and 3 role players you pray make a major step up

St. John's has very little shooting and lots of guys who come from losing programs

Unless you think Karter Knox is better than Milan and Adrian Wooley is better than Alex Wilkins then I'm not sure why how they're better

We've got question marks too but let's not overrate the opponents.

I think folks with top ten expectations need to slow it. At least until we see the team play. The pieces are there but there also gonna be some really solid rosters next year. I really wish we had another 2 guard.

I know this is a deranged thought but does anyone else feel like this might have all worked out roughly the way they (Pope and Brown) wanted it to? Sure they would’ve taken Wright over Zoom, Freeman over McBride/Ndiaye, and of course they would have taken Stokes… but Milan is made in a lab for what Pope wants, and if he was #1 priority from day 1, this is roughly what it would all look like… and then there’s that old Keegan tweet noting that 5 star freshman haven’t been getting you to the FF for several years. I know this is an extremely Kentucky fan comment but as a Dark Pope thought… what if Stokes was a smokescreen?

No one wants to refute the points i guess. We will see how it goes. I would absolutely be welcomed being dunked on if this is the move that sparks Popes resurgence. Id rather see tbis potential $8mil be saved until when Pope leaves.. but whatever. F*ck it, money just grows on trees I guess.

I hope so but I also hope not because it made the fans go crazy mad and probably wasn’t healthy for the fan base

Yes. Freeman has legit injury concerns, Stokes has character issues. Both of those commanded big time money. Milan is a proven commodity and is the most Pope player possible.
