It was Zoom. You said it in your first sentence. Yes, all teams look better when shots are going in. Good offenses give players better shot opportunities. You’re going to chalk good offense up to luck when it’s Pope. I disagree. I think he’s a pretty good X’s and O’s guy. It’s motivation and player accountability where he struggles. And he’s a god awful recruiter.
I think he’s a good X’s and O’s guy when he’s got the personnel. Look no further than the Duke game, and he told the team exactly what Flagg was going to do at the end of the game. Oweh stripped the ball, and we won.

I think back to the end of the Calipari era and wonder when we last had so much anticipation over getting a player. Certainly nothing like it since Pope got here. Stokes pursual had many here pointing to him as a lynchpin get for Pope. He whiffed, as he had done on so many other targets.

I suppose it's a combination of so many recruiting misses and this being the last true star player that Pope can get to start setting things in a truly positive motion for this year.

I dunno who it would be outside of A.D. perhaps (got that feel to me)? Before that, it was Wall (& Boogie, too) It's been awhile. But I am not mistaking Milan for the game changing A.D. - don't think that, nobody should. Milan is just a very important piece, that's all.

Chill has such a smooth, confident shot, never hurried, if it's inside, outside for a midrange, a step back, or 3 point attempt, or even a step back 3, his shot is not hurried or changes form even under the most intense pressure. Great basketball IQ, he's worth every penny for this season.

Or would ya'll rather NOT pay him top dollar stick with what we got and save the university some money ??

I know my answer.

At any rate, let's reel Chill in here and start to change the narrative.

Go Big Blue !

I mean we get him and probably make a sweet 16. Don't see this team as anuthing more than that unless the bracket has upsets and we are playing some scrub n the sweet 16.

Nothing like ad or wall and cousins or even bam and fox and monk.

What is more intriguing to me is how much better a team we can be with him, versus whether or not we get him.
I DEFINITELY want him, but am not sure just how good a team we will end up being. It's just hard for me to visualize right now.
Optimism is the order of the day for me, but still, I just do not know what to think about how effective this new team can/will be.

Michigan didn’t have a Fox, Wall or AD either. It’s a different era in college basketball. I’m not saying we will or won’t make a big run but I do think MM gives us a chance and we should be excited about that. That’s our job as fans.

Don't see us having a chance to compete for a title or final four. I see the rosters other teams have vs ours even with Mom. And last year his team got embarrassed in the sweet 16. Not sure this roster is better than ISUs from last year. But thats why they play the games of course. He certainly makes the season more interesting than without him. No arguments there.

Its not my job as a fan to blindly think he makes us into something we aren't so will agree to disagree and hope ur right and im wrong

Nothing close to that level but I sure would like to get down court fast and pass more than once. Maybe even have a decent constant threat to hit the 3 and box out on rebounds . Is that asking too much?

It's going to be like getting a pile driver on concrete around here if Milan goes somewhere else.

Im trying to see it as a win/win. If we get him, then we have a pretty solid team that could get an E8 or maybe a F4 if things go right. And it also means there are absolutely no excuses for Pope anymore. Guy was given potentially $8mil to go fishing for a single player.

And if we miss on Mom, than we just get to the end of this short era that much quicker.

It’s not a circus. The fans create a circus, not the guys trying to decide what to do with their career

Fans read all of this stuff all day every day and get fatigued and think it’s the players fault but the player isn’t the one putting stuff out there saying “done deal”. “Close to a commitment” etc.

He withdrew from the draft a couple days ago. I don’t care if he waits weeks to decide. His decision can change his life forever, it changes nothing for us other than excitement for a good player for a few months so of course we want it rushed.
Good post.
