I think kyboy likes Indiana. The way he talks them up , it's like a young man in love and won't shut up about her

I can't speak to that, but he ABSOLUTELY does NOT like someone expounding upon or inquiring about a dead-end statement.

Considering that your warning.

Its all about the coach at first, then the intangibles come in to play, facilitates, campus/town life, housing. Its like folks said even before Cal got to UK, just imagine what he will do there, is what the talk was and its true.

Yeah there would have been no Wall, Cousins, or Bledsoe without Cal. We had fell too far back then to get players of that caliber. Cal has brought the tradition of Kentucky basketball back to the forefront. If he stays another 3 or 4 years and continues to succeed, I hope whoever replaces him can maintain what's been good for our program but it will be tough.

Cal is a different breed. And Memphis has always had years of pulling good classes.

Tubby pulled the number 1 class in 2005. He can't do that at Minny, TT, UM, or any stop before that. The programs to matter, a great deal. A great coach just adds to it.

I've been privileged enough to be around top 150 players for the last 7-8 years in a small role as an assistant for an AAU team in Memphis and Nashville before that. Yes, they care about the programs.

Sad part is, Tubby never came close to that kind of recruiting again. Our program didn't do much for him his last four years so how a coach is doing is BIG.

Look! You found a buddy.

Maybe you two can have an IQ competion. It will look like a Wisconsin/Virginia game. First to 60 wins.

You like to impart these little witticisms, all while being exposed.
Look, you made a comment on a message board--- which by nature initiates conversation.
For whatever reason you became miffed with the conversation, and deemed it "senseless". And when reminded that you originated the conversation, you came up with this whacky "dead-end statement" nonsense. And did so WHILE still engaging in the discussion elsewhere on the thread.
When dizzied by your own "logic", you resorted to nifty phrases like "sharpen your pencil".
You've embarrassed yourself over a benign discussion that actually DID send you into a tizzy.
You would be best served letting it go.
Just tap out.

As bad as his recruiting got here at the end, Tubby by far did his best recruiting at Kentucky than any other program.

As great as Cal is at recruiting, he's not bringing in all of these top players over the last 8 years to Memphis. He'd get a lot of them, but not like he's done here.

Cal and UK feed off each other. He helps us. We help him.

That must have been really hard work trying to not look like a fool. You're getting closer.

You're still too stupid to understand who started our conversation and that's expected. Tap out? Really? We're fishing different waters and you don't have the hook to tap me out.

I'm done tonight, going to bed. I'm sure you'll bring your stupid with you to another thread tomorrow/later today and we'll disagree, or agree, on something.

Take care. Big game coming up.

That was what I was getting at and I agree.

You can talk basketball around here as long as your UK blind and never mention anything potentially positive (directly or indirectly) about any team that has any history at all.

True. And I'd also say I'd rather hire White if I'm an IU alumn than another Crean. It's not like they haven't done worse. Davis and Crean for 15 years? I'd rather give a guy like White a shot than another mildly established coach like Tubby or Crean.

No but clearly UK gave Tubby a recruiting advantage he didn't have before or since.

You can believe that but the players Cal brought in his first year hadn't been seen here in over 6 years including Billy G.

This is awesome! You are now combining and creating hybrid witticisms.

You have inspired me, so I will send you off with one of my own.

I said his last 4 years being at UK did not help him in recruiting, and the facts show it.

Yes they were. We landed guys like Patterson who were top 10 RSCI in our most down moment. Apparently most believe we were getting Green when Tubby was at his end. UK is still UK, and it's a huge draw in its own right. Great coaches make great programs better. This isn't news.

In tubbys entire time at UK, he recruited a million times better than he had previously or since. His last 4 years included the number 1 over all class. He also recruited top 20 classes sprinkled in.

Kentucky most certainly did that more than the coach. It works both ways. Patterson committed here blindly to a new coach because he loved the program. It's not cut and dry.

We're getting top 15 players now so Tubby got one and almost another. Tubby's style of play and his 10+ loss seasons here at the end of his days here destroyed getting top players here. Sorry we disagree but the facts tell the story, just being UK at that point meant nothing.

Yeah, but look who revived it. Dude quite literally dug this up to take a shot at Morg over an opinion he had 5 years ago. Kinda creepy...

Wrong. I wanted to see what people thought of White back when he was hired and that just happened to be one of the first comments....possibly the dumbest comment I’ve ever seen. Mike white a blue blood, lmao! The loudest, most obnoxious Cal haters sure do have a pulse on who can coach and who can’t. Right? SMH. Laughable.
