He went on a rant last year how he ain’t no college coach. Don’t even know his coaching history, does it have a stop in college? He's done well with Steelers, but needs a change. We got an open spot, and $8 mill / year.
I recall the rant, but I thought it was more about shutting reporters up about asking him if he was considering other jobs (which happened to be college). Dont think he coached in college, but wouldnt hold that against him, hire a couple great recruiters, we got good NIL, and bet kids would love to play for him.He went on a rant last year how he ain’t no college coach. If he decided to leave the Steelers at the end of the season, he could probably get another NFL head coaching job within minutes.I recall the rant, but I thought it was more about shutting reporters up about asking him if he was considering other jobs (which happened to be college). Yeah, but he's done with the NFL, I can just feel it.If he decided to leave the Steelers at the end of the season, he could probably get another NFL head coaching job within minutes.
Why in God’s name go after someone who hasn’t recruited or put a staff together that may haven’t either? He's done well with Steelers, but needs a change. We got an open spot, and $8 mill / year.
See your response for your answer. He's had a staff for 15 years, so I'm not sure what you're talking about. Get great recruiters, use your NIL, and you win, a lot. Would you really have a problem with him coming here? I'm sure it isn't happening, but if someone would have a problem with it, they'd be batshit crazy. Why in God’s name go after someone who hasn’t recruited or put a staff together that may haven’t either?
No question. He’s a good coach but I’m questioning the reasoning behind it..
I wouldn’t just don’t see him bringing his whole staff from the Steelers and the fact is his whole time has been in the NFL…See your response for your answer. what NFL has ever done something even close to Super Bowl champ vet for 15 years? what are your Insinuating ?
Steelers fan here, nopeHe's done well with Steelers, but needs a change. We got an open spot, and $8 mill / year.
seconds....If he decided to leave the Steelers at the end of the season, he could probably get another NFL head coaching job within minutes.
as a Bears fan, I'd say be careful what you wish for.Mike Tomlin is a glorified cheerleader who won a Super Bowl with Bill Cowher's team and has wasted ungodly amounts of talent over the past 10 or so years. His overall record looks good because of said talent but he won jack **** with it. His teams constantly played down to and lost to ****** teams when the Steelers were actually good. Now the Steelers suck and he's helpless because the talent isn't there to bail him out anymore. His in game coaching and clock management is subpar at best.
Wish some other NFL team would take him so he would be their problem instead of ours. As a Steelers fan I'd say good riddance. But the Steelers being the Steelers they'll keep him until hell freezes over. FML.
I used to be a Tomlin supporter but that ship sailed last year. Have to agree with the other poster in his assessment.as a Bears fan, I'd say be careful what you wish for.
we fired Lovie Smith thinking anyone could do what he did. we were wrong.
Yeah I probably shouldn't have gone off on a rant like that but tired of making excuses for Tomlin lolI used to be a Tomlin supporter but that ship sailed last year. Have to agree with the other poster in his assessment.
Well... we'll never know because the Steelers won't fire him. Only hope is that they don't re-sign him when his contract expires. With our luck the Steelers will go 14-2 and lose in the divisional round to an inferior team the year his contract expires. That will get him a good 7-8 more years or so lolas a Bears fan, I'd say be careful what you wish for.
