Remember when we could have hired Norvell a couple of years ago but passed because of “red flags?” LOL, what a joke. We also passed on Satterfield and opted for Moorhead instead.

Norvell is a gamble for FSU just like everyone else. He seems more likely than most to be successful, but he might have bombed here, who knows.

One trend in coaching searches at State..... as the years pass...... the more stories come out about some great coach(es) that would have coached here but our AD screwed it up somehow.

e.g.: Spurrier wanted the job in '85. Not buying it.

Spurrier was on Bo Bounds show a couple years back and confirmed it. He really wanted the MSU job and was told he "didn't interview very well."

Duke hired him. Then Florida.

Spurrier says he interviewed for the job but didnt get it. Story on our end was he made some demands that couldn't be met.

According to the Moorhead haters, his offense never would have worked here anyway. He certainly would have left for Florida in 1990 though.

I'm afraid we'll soon be saying, "Remember when we had a coach who won 14 games in his first two seasons?"

These kind of posts just "Prove" the fact that MSU has the MOST gullible fans in the country.

Not sure what you mean about that on "gullible". I was in school in '86, and Spurrier definitely interviewed for the job. We had a lot of debate over whether a pass-happy, USFL coach could make it in the SEC. Now, of course, no one really knows if we rejected him or if he decided he didn't want to come here. All we know is that he was a candidate and we wound up with Rockey.

Guillible.... as in? Believe anything anyone will tell them or the school?

I just never wanted to believe we passed on a SEC great and USFL coach to hire the DB coach at Bama because he was a former Bulldog. But..... I guess we did.
