I know Parrella was just hired as asst D Line coach in Cleveland, but.....
Congratulations to him on the move. Find the best man available for the job. Part of the more modern process of having a staff of coaches who want success where they are and still looking for future susccsss elsewhere.

What did Parella do to make you want him back as DL coach here? His Dline was pretty underwhelming. My understanding was that the 3-4 D wasn't his thing and didn't care for it...BUT...maybe it was more Diaco than the scheme.
Classic chicken and egg scenario. Will we ever know if they could have been a good DL without Bobby D?
Any concern recent DL signees get pissed and leave? I mean it was announced just after last signing day. Not sure if Dawson was the only reason some of them came to NU.

Okay. So who do we get to replace him? You know there's going to be a plethora of guys who want the job. I see a Peter reference. That could be fun. The toughest thing would be to keep him from running on the field to tear somebody's head off.Winking
You know, Parella I thought was doing a good job as a recruiter and he has enough experience. It will be interesting to see where Frost goes with the hire. No doubt he's known this could happen.
Just throwin stuff at the wall here... Ron Aiken is currently with the AZ Hotshots of the upstart AAF... He and Scott have crossed paths at Oregon. A lot of experience and fairly successful in both college and the League.

Well, you never want to see good assistants go, but bound to happen if we have success, though I wasn't thinking this early.

If he's the only guy that leaves I'll consider it a win. If we have more success next season, as we anticipate, it's bound to become more common.
Some people I have talked to about this really don’t see this as much of a loss, depending on who they replace him with. I honestly don’t know that much about him, so I don’t really know if it is good or bad.
This is almost as bad as the day we all found out Mike Riley would be the next head coach. Somebody had to say it.RollingLaugh

We’ve gone thru this— Diaco ordered “bullrush only and get their hands up”. I don’t care who they hire but Parrella was the last problem the Huskers had under Riley’s tenure— he should have never come home.
Isn't he from the east coast originally? This is going back home for him I would think. Good luck to him. One thing is certain, Frost will hire a good guy to replace him.
Ed Orgeron is a really good DL coach and recruiter.
Ty was interviewed on last big red wrap up and while paying respects to coach Dawson when asked about him, I did not get the impression that he would be that critical for Ty as far as staying put.... same goes for the rest of the room. Respected man, but kids aren’t attached to him like the ole Williams’ coaches.
