Honestly wanted Illinois to win, but again for BE I will take UCONN over St Johns or Nova.

I don't have a dog in the fight. I just don't like Michigan much. It's also not much because of 1989 cause I feel that was years ago and wasn't born, but I can't be upset with Uconn winning 3 out of 4 cause it solids what we obviously know about the BE but corrupt SEC and ACC can't take a conference built on basketball being much better (SEC) or at least at the level (ACC) of their precious conferences.

This also just proves how pathetically we were snubbed back in 2024 again. I keep saying it but seeing UCONN make 3 finals in 4 years makes me frustrated knowing how this arrogant selection committee devalued beating them in 2024 at their best and had to force undeserved MWC trash, FAU cause of that one final four run, precious second in A-10 Dayton, and the usual 17-19 win mid their SEC and ACC trash. F them.

Not the same selection committee, math or circumstances

Agree with everything except wanting Illinois to win. Once out of the conference gotta close ranks behind our schools.

Hurley right now reminds me of the Giants from Parcells through Coughlin. When they get to a Sweet 16, they advance to the title game, just like all those Giant teams who once they got to a conference championship, didn’t lose and won the whole thing 4 out of 5 times. Let’s hope Monday night isn’t Giants Ravens.

Yeah Michigan looking good. Man wish Purdue actually kept game close. I just don't like Arizona too much man. I don't like that arrogant Yaxel punk, but Michigan trashing Bama and Tennessee who I rated highly honestly seem much better man. The Yaxel kid is actually good tbh, which I get draft hype, Mara is a serviceable big, their wings and guards can defend and shoot. Cadeua honestly is a good playmaker and can score well.

I don't get much of the hype with Zona outside Krivas and some scoring spurts from Berries. I like Bradley too, but he seems reliant on the rim.

But every game they have played Zona have massively had terrible starts and you se it again and it can be an emrbassment bro. I just think they constantly rely on talent the games I've watched. I give credit Michigan actually move the ball well and play with better focus.

Have to root for UConn. Not only to keep the Big East respectable with the P4s who despise us, but for the money.

The Big East teams badly need revenue and with only 3 teams making the tournament, that really hurts revenue. Thankfully with UConn making the Final, it raises the BE to about 10 credits or $20 Million to be shared with all 11 members. For the first time the NC winner also receives an extra credit.

The last 3 years have seen a large decrease in NCAA revenue for the Big East even though UConn has been dominant. The cost of reduced bids and not having multiple teams advancing has added up.

Year - NCAAT Revenue (Bids)
2026 - $20m or 22m (3)
2025 - $18m (5)
2024 - $22m (3)
2023 - $30m (5)
2022 - $26m (6)

Nova won 2 national championships in the newly configured Big East. That's a lot more than a sprinkling.

If UConn leaves the BE, perhaps they'll end up like BC or Cuse.
Yeah, the basketball-only conference has won 4/9 titles and sent a team the NC game in 5/10 seasons, with 2 different schools winning more than 1 title.

And we turned them over about 15 times both games. Ilini got 4 TOs, 2 on illegal picks.

Uconn needs to have Ball, Karaban and Mullins hitting 3s. UM is a monster.

Illinois D was very soft and it cost them. Big East grit prepares UCONN for these games.
This is why UCONN is going to surprise people monday. They may not win but it will be close.

Hurley best coach in the country and it’s not really close.
Guess that is different from coach of the year. He is certainly in the top very small handful. If UCONN can beat physically-imposing Michigan Monday, I'd say he is in a class by himself. Really, really thought he got ahead of himself (surprise?) in his post game canonization of Geno after Friday night's meltdown and embarrassment. I realize he was asked the question, but he could have toned it down by about 75%.

On another note, did see folks KenanThompson's SNL skit on Charles Barkley? He absolutely nailed it. The guy who played Ernie Johnson was very good, too.

UCONN doesnt need the Big East!
They succeed no matter what.
With Hurley leading them, they will continue dominating no matter what conference they are in. The Big East needs UCONN much more than UCONN needs the Big East.
To compare UCONN to lowly BC and Syracuse is absolutely crazy insane.

Ridiculous. Danny just started at UCONN then and had to fix what Kevin Ollie had broken.
Remember, there was no quick fix NIL unlimited transfer.
Hurley is, by a very wide margin, the greatest college basketball coach alive. He and UCONN will win no matter where they are. Just like Dike would win no matter their conference.

Hurley had to straighten out Ollie's mess, but that wasn't really a huge rebuilding job. Uconn was firmly established at that point as a blue blood because of Calhoun, and Ollie won another title early and really only bottomed out at the end. Uconn was down when Hurley got there no doubt, but it wasn't down long, and coming off a period in which it won multiple national titles in recent memory.

Hurley absolutely needed the Big East to bring Uconn all the way back. Remember his first two years he didn't even make the dance in the AAC. Then he was out in the first round of the dance in years 3 and 4. It was year 5 when Uconn took off and got "back" to being Uconn.

Now they don't need the Big East. But they did to get back to being Uconn.

Most UConn fans wholeheartedly agree that the AAC harmed UConn hoops.

Joining a big conference like the Big 12 takes it's toll because so much travel is involved and no real rivalries. The latter can develop for sure. But sometimes new rivalries can be milquetoast.

Syracuse, Pittsburg, BC, et al. thought they would do better. Didn't happen.

If you guys go that route, I think you'll eventually meet the same fate

Good luck tomorrow night. Hope you guys win.

AAC was a killer then. Not sure it would be now if the fans still supported them. I always thought Dan knew the BE invite was happening when he said yes.

Danny is the best coach in men's college basketball today. Not all time, but today he is. But if Solo Ball can't go, I have the sinking feeling that Michigan is going to earn its first national championship tonight.

If they do get that trophy, they can finally Fedex ours to us.
