I seem to recall the new NC coach had some good years in Massachusetts ...
He certainly wasn’t the “GOAT” coach without the “GOAT” QB, both of whom I don’t care for.. We will see how it works out for the young man when the “GOAT” coach leaves for an NFL job in a year or two.
He'll still be a draw for a little while either way, especially if the money is good down there. I think he and TB had a once-in-a-lifetime partnership that struck gold. Much of it was due to Brady's obsessive nature to be great through preparation and film study. I saw an interview somewhere where he said he would study so much film to identify tendencies that he was consistently a step ahead of the defensive calls.
He's got Fort Knox for NIL. It was one of the stipulations for him to become coach. Basically, he said I'll have enough to buy whoever I want or I'm not coming. We had a healthy lead in this one until just a day or two ago. Belichick didn't out recruit Schiano, tobacco money did. Problem for us is Belichick is going to ride Schiano's coat tails on high school player evaluations in the Northeast
There's nothing we can do about it so not going to stress. So many schools have unlimited resources and when you add that kind of coach..oh well.
I actually like Belichick but wish him and unc nothing but failure together.
They offered a boatload of NIL at the last minute for an OG and RU wasn't interested in a bidding war.
Belichick was given around $20M for NIL when he became the head coach. Their fan base is serious about winning. Only a select number of schools are going to compete with that type of budget.
Something like this shouldn’t be happening and it’s only happening because the fanbase does not adequately support NIL. North Carolina is not Ohio State, Penn State, or Michigan. They’re a basketball school, which now has significant NIL for football. Syracuse is also raising NIL for their programs. Our fans need to pony up or accept second class status.
They will prefer 2nd class citizenship than to open up a wallet. They will continue to bash players and coaches and act like they care but they do not. They want the 4 and 5 stars like Penn State but won’t do what Penn State fans will do to get them $$$$$$.

Feel the same way. Finding it hard to care anymore TBH. College sports is broken.
I think some of you seriously over-estimate the percentage of New Jersey people that actually give a crap about Rutgers football.
