Ugly match by Shawver, but the kid he lost to is a beast. He would of easily been a 4xer in PA if he didn't run into Jax Forest

Ah mat 6 with constant stream issues. Gonna shut it down as we're not wrestling well anyway.

What happened to the narrative that he’s a sr with a tons of experience and the other guy is just a freshman with tons of potential.. that’s always the narrative when our freshman loses to a sr from some other team..

Finding it hard to believe this is the same Shawver that was a AA and gave Davino his only loss so far… I thought it was suppose to be you improve every year but it’s kinda disturbing how many of our guys end up regressing instead as they get older…

Not a good tournament for us, not particularly deep at any weight and poor results.
Can't remember last time I saw so many of our guys give up so many falls.

Tough looking at any positives here. SCW looks good though.

Remy looks good as well so far...not sure who he has faced.
Barbosa has looked promising

I hear ya. The difference is that Seidel is very legit and is going to be a multi-AA by the time he graduates. He should of had a higher HS ranking IMO. He kind of got screwed in the match against Jax. In fact, I think he has the most wins in PA history. None of our guys had those accolades. We have 2 3xers on the team. Both very defensive wrestlers in comparison, although Joey is great with cradles and Harer is great on top.

Can we just admit that Shawver got hot at the right time? I mean, he wasn't a blue chip. He was never a state champ. He had a great season, got a great seed at Big 10s, did fantastic and carried that momentum into the Nationals when he was a 5th seed. I'm not taking anything away from what he did, but the fact that he AA'd is amazing. Not sure anyone would have thought he'd even accomplish that, prior to doing so. Shawver is great in neutral and can scramble. It pains me when I hear TV commentators say how good he is on top. That's just not the case.

Something is off or people figured him out.

As said above. Used to be. Not sure what the hell happened since his AA. He clearly hasn't been the same wrestler, especially on his feet.
Ever since he started beating his chest and promised national titles is when the regression began. Probably started getting comfortable.

Used to have really good Duck and had that signature dump he used all the time. Hasnt hit any of that in like 2 years! Not the same wrestler he was. Grinded on top as well. Something changed.
The big 10 tournament and national tournament was the best he’s ever wrestled in his life. Like Poz, he overachieved at a great time, and then returned back to his normal ability. Both guys were/are career R16/R12 wrestlers that had great tournaments one year. Human nature we expect them to elevate their abilities after that, in reality they just “regressed” to what they really are. There’s no shame in that.

Funny thing is people will blame the wrestlers, the coaches, the program, whoever for the regression without crediting the accomplishment.
