I don't know if any of you are aware of this or not, but Goat doesn't like this logo and we should never have changed.
Quick, there’s still time to change it back before some rando in Wisconsin gets confused because of our marketing!I don't know if any of you are aware of this or not, but Goat doesn't like this logo and we should never have changed.
I had forgotten about that. The years where we had the interlocking MSU on the helmets, we had the banner M-State as the midfield logo.![]()
Fun fact, this will only be the second game in school history where that logo is painted midfield.
I'm pretty sure it was on the field for one season, 1996. Unless there is some slight difference between Nikes 96 msu and this one.Fun fact, this will only be the second game in school history where that logo is painted midfield.

So the banner M (ugly one, granted) was there on the field during the lemmings' glory days??? Hahahaha ain't that just something elseI'm pretty sure it was on the field for one season, 1996. Unless there is some slight difference between Nikes 96 msu and this one.
86-1995 was MSJ.
1996 Nike msu
1997-?? MState.
You are correct. The 1996 Alabama-MSU game is on YouTube, and the interlocking MSU logo is at midfield.I'm pretty sure it was on the field for one season, 1996. Unless there is some slight difference between Nikes 96 msu and this one.

Eh. It appears to be a bastard of MSJ and skinny interlocking. Its not the right logo. Its fatter and the S does not snake around the M.You are correct. The 1996 Alabama-MSU game is on YouTube, and the interlocking MSU logo is at midfield.
Agreed....and we had that logo on the field for a few years before 1995 I think. I never realized how weird it looks until I was checking this out yesterday. I guess now I can understand why some people think the MSJ and the interlocking logo are basically the same. They look very different on the helmets.Eh. It appears to be a bastard of MSJ and skinny interlocking. Its not the right logo. Its fatter and the S does not snake around the M.

So skinny interlocking was never on the 50. Nice.Eh. It appears to be a bastard of MSJ and skinny interlocking. Its not the right logo. Its fatter and the S does not snake around the M.

Can we afford the additional paint? Maybe the Hampton Inn could pitch in for a couple gallons.Hope they fill it in**
That basketball logo looks like something you’d see at a middle school.![]()

The pre 1986 version of the MSU diagonal logo appears to be closer to what is midfield in '96. Cheap *** LT refused to buy a new stencil. My guess is the groundskeepers made their own stencil. It doesn't look quite right with the S sitting on top like that.

Speaking of cheap LT ****, the 1996-97 version of the M-State at midcourt in the Hump was awful. It was off-center and looked terrible. The rumor at the time is that it was freehanded and no stencil was purchased. Look at the logo on the scorers table vs. midcourt.

Except for 1 game in 1993, apparently. So skinny interlocking was never on the 50. Nice.
We all about traditions, mane....
This is our best field (non-specialty logos), and it's not close:

It got people talkingNeed #hailstate in the endzones again.
I still "Hail State" people when see them wearing State gear and usually get one in return. It got people talking
And I've noticed that nobody says Hail State to each other anymore, our fans are WAYYYYY too cool for a tradition like that
That midfield is hilarious. Attempted at the Nike logo using the M-S-J font. We have come a long wayYou are correct. The 1996 Alabama-MSU game is on YouTube, and the interlocking MSU logo is at midfield.
Didn't know that. That's really odd it's only the 2nd time. What was the primary mid field logo during the Sherrill era? I cannot remember.![]()
Fun fact, this will only be the second game in school history where that logo is painted midfield.
Yeah I mean you obviously don't walk around Starkville saying it.I still "Hail State" people when see them wearing State gear and usually get one in return.
However , I could see that getting really old though if I lived where I saw State folks regularly.
It was the one posted above until '96, and then in '97 it was the Banner M.Didn't know that. That's really odd it's only the 2nd time. What was the primary mid field logo during the Sherrill era? I cannot remember.
Some schools separate the official logo from the sports logo (Georgia). Some do not. Some have a completely random helmet (LSU). Some have one for all 3 (Oregon). It was the one posted above until '96, and then in '97 it was the Banner M.
