This is best argument for Mickey. What he lacks in "experience" (I would argue he doesn't all that much) he would make up for in hustle. No one wants it worse than Mickey and no one will work harder for it. Use the $$ we save on him to surround him with proven staff.
Explain to me how that is more risky than bringing in someone like Mr Perpetual .500 Aranda or Campbell. The second someone like that hits a speed bump they'll be sitting there wishing they never left
From Joseph's Wiki page, these are the coaching psns he has held: QB, running game coordinator, WR, RB, high school HC, AHC, HC, ST, passing game coordinator, interim HC. His coaching tenure dates back to 1995.
I'm not worried about his coaching experience. If I'm Alberts, I'd be evaluating the plan Joseph is pitching against those of other applicants. And it is my belief that once you get past a few folks that are viewed as "can't miss" (and remember, our most recent HC was described in these terms), it's six of one and a half dozen of the other. Who has the best ideas to address NU's deficiencies at the line of scrimmage? Is Alberts looking for a guy who can get 7-9 wins, or a guy who will compete head up against Michigan, tOSU and PSU? Who has a good plan for a staff with a top recruiting network? Say what you want about Pelini, but we haven't seen guys like Gregory, Maliek, Martin, David etc. on the roster for some time.
