I’ll ask again: which Big Ten coaches got disciplined when their teams got into fights? This is not a good look for the teams involved, but to me it doesn’t look any different than Michigan and Michigan State brawling in a stadium tunnel.

It is football. If a player takes off their helmet in a brawl it is their fault. Otherwise you are fully padded to take maximum punishment. I am sure more guys got hurt in the actual game then in the brawl. Should brawls happen? No, but the game is designed for players to hurt each other and hit each other. Suspensions and ejections are fine but people don't need to judge the "culture" of the coaches and players of the most violent team sport. The sport is so violent people have to wear protective helmets, and players still get their brains liquified. I never understood the moralizing of such a violent sport, as if the fans aren't watching to see people get destroyed. If you want to watch a beautiful game, go watch soccer or basketball.
Mickey did an admirable job taking over. Would I want his brand of “toughness” any where around our team now? No thank you.
Even then, why get mad? All that stuff doesn’t magically fix itself just because you get mad and throw a fit. It’s a waste of time and energy. Diagnose and fix.
