It reminds me of another universe where Cal was not interested in the UK job and we go with Travis Ford instead. UCLA is a very unappealing job.

At UCLA Cronin should be just as worried about severance package/buyout vs his yearly salary. They seem to go through as many coaches as IUsed to be.

He might do well there and at least doesn’t have quite the trail of bodies (re: jobs) as the usual suspects do. Alford, Rick Barnes, Lon Krueger, etc. etc. those guys are trying to compete with Larry Brown for most HC jobs.

Cronin is a total POS. He’s the biggest POS in college basketball.

UCLA is a dump.

That name is now useless. When you hire guys like Cronin it tells a story.

Cronin can probably do enough to not get fired out there. His style of lay doesn’t work at the high major level but it should be passable in the mid major PAC 12.

UC fans have to be giddy, excited, happy, relieved, exuberant, delighted, whatever happy word you can think of that Mick Cronin is gone. They went as far as any team ever will with him as coach.

UCLA is below Oregon and Arizona today. It’s just an old name. They aren’t a blue blood even though Cronin will play like they are. It’s a mediocre job with little upside, a small budget, and no perks. It might not be a top 4 job in the pac12. It’s not close to a great job nationally.

Cronin couldn’t get Cincinnati moving much past what Huggins accomplished. He’s going to flop at UCLA. they need to just start hiring assistants that’s where it’s headed anyway.

There's a large number if fans on this board who say Mitch Barnhart is the worst AD in the nation. I get a chuckle out of that because they couldn't name 2 other AD's if their life depended on it.

Here's one to remember, UCLA's AD is Dan Guerrero.

I know I haven't spoken up but......I secretly had talks with UCLA......I wasn't going to move out there but.......I used it as a bargaining chip to get a Bluetooth trolling motor for my bass boat........I need to watch my back.....
I need new electronics for mine. Think you could help me negotiate a deal? 2 new

Cal
Dixon
Barnes
Cronin

Anyone else they tried before Cronin?

The whole world knows you just got your 4th choice. Can you imagine being a high school recruit and realizing that UCLA is so irrelevant that they couldn't get Jamie Dixon? Who in their right mind wants to sign up for that?

Cronin had minimal success at UC. 13 seasons, 1 Sweet 16.

That's the guy that's going to Fix your dying Blue blood?

That has to be a little embarrassing knowing where you were on their want list.
Doubling his salary, really think he cares...of course it's half what Cal was offered and probably come out even with taxes and COL expenses. Plus, he has to live in that crazy messed up cesspool..

Honest question:

Who has the most punchable face?

Cronin?

Dick Pitino Jr?

Steve Masiello?

Is this officially, official, official? Because I have read a lot of titles saying so and so was the next coach of UCLA. $ is settled, buyout, all that? If so good luck with that little turd. Should have stuck with Alford. At least we know that record isn't going to increase on us.

Not a fan of Cronin but he might do well in the PAC 10. Step up from UC.
