They've got one PG who is really smart with no ability, and one who has a lot of ability but isn't too smart on the court, or in the classroom evidently. Tough to be good that way.

They must be afraid to fire him for some reason. He should be long gone. Hope they keep him there forever.
Scared to fire a coach. What does that even mean, lol?

Maybe reluctant because he is a Michigan Fab 5 legend. Maybe he gets a longer leash, especially having heart surgery about 6 months ago.

I think the fact that Howard had a health scare with his heart and missed the start of the season, likely set him back.....the other factor when discussing the health issue could also be how long he was actually off his feet and not able to recruit, not able to run off-season workouts and other factors that we may not know about.

All of this ultimately isn't going to save Howard in my opinion, but Howard and Michigan's problem has been using the transfer portal to build their roster. It's impossible to be consistent when you're in the portal for most of your key starters each year. And it's not like Michigan doesn't have a roster full of 4* or higher in talent.

The hires at Michigan and Ohio State (if they're quality pick ups), will probably bring the B1G to the Top of all CBB in terms of quality of conference from Top to bottom in 2024-25 and beyond, while adding USC, UCLA, Oregon and Washington along the way.
