I’ll start by saying I think they are a really good team and that Howard looks to be doing a fantastic job there.

However, it really is amazing how much they’ve avoided the B1G gauntlet thus far. Here’s a look at their conference games to date.

Penn State, 4 point W
At Nebraska, 11 point W
At Maryland, 11 point W
Northwestern, 19 point W
Minnesota, 25 point W
Wisconsin, 23 point W
At Minnesota, 18 point L
Maryland, 24 point W
At Purdue, 17 point W

They’ve been winning by large margins, but to date they have not played OSU, Iowa, or Illinois. The Wisconsin & Purdue wins are solid, but those are the only two conference games they’ve played where the opponent is > .500. Today’s game at Wisconsin coming off the long Covid break will be very interesting.

For the other degenerates on the board, they're getting a point today. Thoughts?

In my opinion, Michigan is very good. Their offense is a joy to watch. They also have a Freshman center, who seems unstoppable. This seems like one of those games that Myles and Cliff have three pound by the 8:00 timeout.

This. They have had an easy schedule- relatively speaking. Let them face Iowa, Illinois, OSU and us a couple of times each. See how they hold up

Wisconsin's style is playing to Michigan not having basketball legs yet and keeping them in the game. If Rutgers is smart Thursday, I'd run for 40 minutes and destroy their stamina, you can see some players on Michigan got winded quick.

If I didn’t know better I would swear Howard Cosell is doing this game.

Johnson can play their big guy well.
Michigan playing terrible- shooting 30%, while Wisconsin is winning by 14 but they don't look that great. If Michigan plays like this on Thursday, we should beat them.

They will be the top of the B10 for years to come. Look at the recruiting class they are bringing in. Howard will be tough to beat on the court and in recruiting.

The key to the Michigan game obviously is keeping Myles out of foul trouble; if they call the game on Thursday like they are the calling the game today where they are letting them play then we will be in good shape; the big thing is look at the difference between Omuruyi and Dickinson as a freshman; we are going to have put Cliff in when Dickinson is out and this might be a game where if Myles can stay out of foul trouble you use the twin towers for a few minutes

Obvious they do not have their legs as Wagner ; Dickinson, and Brooks missing easy shots. We have to make them work on defense like Wisconsin is doing. That means no hanging at the three point line and cutting to the basket , crash the offensive glass , run hard pick and rolls , movement without the ball. Wear them out so with no legs their shots will be off. But they will be home where normally shooting is better plus 3 days of practice , so they will be sharper . Wear them out , be very active offensively and defensively.

Ref Bo at it again as the refs are single handedly getting Michigan back into the game
Not seeing the same thing you’re seeing. Officiating has been fine this game. They went to the monitor to check for a flagrant against UW’s Davison and said no, just a basketball play. They also called a T against the Michigan bench. Hardly one-sided officiating.

They're beatable right now. I just learned that Dickinson is a 20 year old freshman. No wonder why he looks so seasoned. With that said, I've read in Michigan papers that he still has trouble dealing with double teams on him. If I were Pike I'd double team him and force him into errors and hope that not everybody else is hot from the perimeter. If we can neutralize him and gain more access on the boards, I think we have a really good shot at upsetting them.

Cold spells loaded with bad shots, often with the clock under five....aren’t they something?!!!

Some of you give a lot of credit to Howard and yes, he deserves it. But you do realize that Howard's associate on the bench is the great Phil Martelli, the same Martelli that led St. Joe's all of those years (24) in Philly.

Michigan defense is really good. And their offense is potent. Best team in the league.
agreed there we are going to have to play our best offensively and defensively to have a chance but it can be done; the last few minutes are like watching our games where we drive and nothing is called and then Michigan drives and a foul called against Wisconsin

Why is Wisconsin playing soft D ?
Michigan allowing no time and space, Wisconsin playing off?

Michigan’s D this half has been crazy good. 14 points for UW. Playing out of control, putting up low percentage shots with shot clock expiring. Sound familiar?

What I find amazing is that Michigan wasn't even ranked at the start of the year.

I thought Mike Smith was gonna be a bust as a shoot-happy transfer, but he's played his role perfectly. And Dickinson was rated right around where Cliff was but he's been a top-5 freshman. Two big question marks turned into big strengths.

There is no reason Michigan should be in this game but they are because of Wisconsin's slow pace and average defense keeping Michigan in the game. Pikiell has to play a more uptempo style on Thursday. There is a reason why Jacob thrived against Wisconsin 9-15 shooting.

Dickinson has the same gene that Luka Garza and Trayce Jackson-Davis have where any sort of contact on them gets whistled even if the defender is walling up or going backwards.

He's also really, really good like those two. Just to be clear.
