I'm glad I saw this thread...I was watching Alaska Monsters on Destination America...nice to see that UM is beating the [poop] out of UNCheat! Plus I'm glad I didn't watch it and have to listen to Vitale. [cheers]:cool2:

Vitale attempted to sing Hail To The Victors at the end,it was quite hilarious!

Didn't they say Beilan learned like 6 hours before their Mega Bemax game they he had to have bypass surgery though?

I dunno... I'm kinda giving Michigan a pass on that game.

I'm glad I missed it! Was he crying as he sang it? [laughing] I should say, Tried to sing it?
Lol. It was some garble like, "Hail to the Victors, blah, blah blah. Hail to the chieeeffsss, blah..." Then he said something like, "I know the song because there are 8 degrees from Notre Dame in my family."

Umm... mmkay, Vitale. [laughing]

I'm sorry, but DV just needs to retire! Seriously!

If Cal was to retire in the next two years ... I wouldn’t mind getting Beilein
Agree, always loved him. Dont particularly care for the Michigan wolverines. But ive pulled for em last two championship game appearances. Matthews has never really been negative to ky from my understanding. So if we cant win it. Let a former ky player win it lol. Unless they transfer to unc, duke, ville, kansas lol

He's one of the handful of coaches I'd guarantee at least 1 title here...... I'd want a title for Michigan if not us...... the only problem is if he wins one there.... and Cal were to retire... it would be much more difficult to bring him here.... lol. So if not us... I'll root for Gonzaga then...

This fan base would have trashed him and ruined his confidence. Most aren’t built to allow a kid to develop in a traditional and natural sense. They are expected to be good instantly.
Damn those pesky fans! How terrible that they came to with the concept of "Succeed and Proceed" which basically means that if a kid stays he has hasn't succeeded..or in other words, failed. I remember those fans reigning him with boos every time he got on the floor and renting a moving van to park outside the lodge! Seriously, for all it's merits and/or flaws, our system seems largely designed to push kids to the pros or out the door after a couple of years!

I don't really like any team not named Kentucky (although I gotta admit to being a temporary fan of anyone that beats UNCheat, Duke, or U6 in a final four setting). That said, in this modern world of college basketball, Beilein has definitely come up with a system that seems to work..not only in terms of winning and advancement, but in terms of stability and consistency. I suspect he'd be a little long in the tooth to come here after Cal, but I wouldn't totally mind a system in which we had a little more retention.

Yep, by years end we will have a top 10 SOS, our out of conference schedule is also very strong, possibly stronger overall than UNC. Guy is just a bad troll is all.

I doubt we get into top 10. Top 40 maybe. You don't go from 310 plus to top 10. The schedule is getting tougher now. BTW, the truth doesn't make one a troll. If you think it does, maybe rethink that.

Be nice if UK could grow playing tougher opponents. When our lose I at least respect UNC for playing a schedule to build before March.... Like majority of UK fans says, "UK is a March Team". Does that make any sense? We play a 0-7 team tonight. How can we learn how to play. Our toughest opponent this year we almost lost to them by 40 while our SEC contender played them to 78-72.
Maybe because their all freshman? What good does it to throw them into the fire? So UK fans can ***** more than they already do? Also, duke played in Maui..we dont generally play in holiday tournaments...other than that their in the acc/big10 challenge but we are in the sec/big12 one and also play unc and uofl, two of their league opponents...outside of that additional Maui tourney/conf challenge ttech who is duke playing out of their conference? I see yale and powerhouse Hartford.

We have played Duke and the rest are our bottom 10% of opponents on the schedule. That’s why we are in the 300s. We play UNC, Kansas and then the SEC is great this year. Not to mention quality OOC in Seton Hall and Louisville. Tell me who the 39 other teams are who play a harder schedule? They’d have to be in ACC or SEC to have a chance to finish up ahead of us. Add Michigan state and Kansas due to quality OOC as well as possibly ahead of us. You do realize how SOS works right? We will be top 10, watch. It’s obvious to see, but it doesn’t help your negative narrative.

This is because it updates game to game. That was our lowest ranked opponent of the season. Obviously it drops. You don’t do math well do you?

Do you think teams from the major conferences ahead of us are going to have easier schedules from here on?

Why is the truth negative?

Our schedule gets harder but not top 10.

At no point since I have been following UK, have we played a schedule this weak 7 games into the season.

Michigan is the real deal. Matthews wanted to leave Lexington as soon as he got here. Doesn’t make sense.

Yes it does. Cal favored Briscoe over Matthews. Now if IB had Matthews attitude and stayed for 4 years, he may have been Matt's equal.

Not surprising but Roy has barely played Nasir Little in this game. Some argued he was the top player in the class after his all star games performances (silly I know). Still he was hyped up as a sure fire lotto draftee and projected as high as top 5. Roy is doing whatever he can to tank this kids stock.
AND, keep him.

Matthews jumper looks so much better than I remember it here.

It's cool seeing a kid develop and improve like that.
I ask a serious question..........
Has this happened to a player here at UK under the leadership of coach Cal ?

I'm talking 4 year player, none of the 1 and done or 2 and out stuff.

This is what's wrong with college Basketball.

Hard to determine an early season blowout as a barometer of the March Madness. We shall see.
Note: 1997 Maui Tourn. Arizona 89 Ky. 74, Duke 95 Arizona 87. Ky. defeats Duke in Regional Final, Ky. wins National C'ship.

You haven’t been watching long then. There have been several seasons our first 7 games were extremely weak. It’s typical actually. There are outliers seasons that we played in a tournament and had tougher early schedules. And yes most major conference teams don’t play Duke , UNC, Kansas, etc in their OOC. It’s fact and not debatable. Outside 10-20 teams our OOC is better than the rest. Add that to a stack SEC and we will be top 10 by seasons end. It’s really not that hard to understand. You keep saying you are speaking the truth when the facts don’t prove that. Facts are truth and that’s why we will be top 10 SOS come March. Wait and see. You have an agenda and the facts don’t support it, that’s why you are so defensive and try to spout SOS and other stats when the sample size isn’t there yet.

List 39 teams OOC that’s stronger, hell list 15. You can’t. Plain and simple.
Add a stacked SEC on top of it and stats don’t lie.

Our SOS was 16 last year with a weaker OOC and slightly weaker SEC. Once again, you have an agenda and don’t state truth. You try to sway stats knowing damn well we will be top 10 SOS by March.

Except for the fact it’s exact type of schedule UK has played the past few years if you look it up.

19-2017
44-2016
26-2015
5-2014
Sway stats?
That’s my point my friend. Our schedule is better than last years easily. It was lower in 2016 because SEC was down. This is best SEC has been, and we play Duke, Kansas and UNC OOC. You stated we’d be lucky to be top 40. Like I said you are either clueless or have an agenda. It’s simple to see.
