My point still stands on Hannah's offense. Needs to go through her process quicker. She's out their backing down her post defender, sizing them up like it's streetball 1 on 1 and she's got all the time to just work whatever she wants and/or weight room them............

This isn't the NBA where they just LET you play iso ball out of boredom.

(yes, there's a lot of exagerrations in my post for the grumpy grandpas............;))
Or you could just enjoy her game for what it is. Really nice and willing passer, really good defender of multiple front court positions, runs the floor as well as any big in the country and our best rebounder.

IMO, that's what was so disappointing during that 3 game skid. They are much better than they showed and it was the perimeter defense that really struggled and a lot of that IMO had to do with losing McCabe who I think was underappreciated defensively. Inserting Stremlow into the starting lineup was a difference maker IMO. She's very disruptive out there as she showed again today.
She was crazy active coming off her gal and tipping balls away as ballhandlers came into her area. I don't know how many turnovers she ultimately caused, but she was really good at that today.

Then Iowa got hot and ran them out of the gym! Did all that with Chit-Chat basically invisible scoring. Thought she was gonna settle in after making that little floater, but she didn't shoot well and still won handily. We need her to get back to form.

Ava was great, again, and never thought I would see the day I would miss Hannah Stuelke, but the 2nd half of this season she has been playing GREAT. Rebounding machine, plays great defense and seems to be in the right place at the right time a lot. Great job kid.

Well they're big favorites in their last 2 games, so I'm pretty confident in a second place finish and a 2 seed in the BTT. A 2 seed in the NCAA tournament might require a loss by someone who's already there regardless of what Iowa does. Beating Michigan again in the BTT would probably do it.
In the national tourney, there really isn't much difference between 2/3, imo.

Ava was very sick yesterday and got stronger a the game went on. Jan had asked if she wanted to sit the second half.. thankfully she chose to play
And given her demeanor in the game, I'm thinking her response was something like "F yeah I'm playing!"

Tempting.....but I think I'll stick with hoping players continue to try to better themselves throughout the season rather than settling for whatever their game is at a certain point in the season, even if it's their Senior season. :D

How many teams have put any fear in UCLA this year?
Supposedly Michigan gave them a game earlier. That is kind of the point though. They've blown out so many teams maybe if you keep it close late, they'll crack just a bit. A couple early fouls on Betts would help a lot.

That makes A LOT of sense. Watching the game early she just didn't look right, and she wasn't running the floor like normal. Then Jan kept taking her out when she only had one foul. Pretty sure she was under the weather.

I honestly thought Jan was trying to keep her from getting 2 early fouls, and the early part of the game there was a ton of substitutions by both teams because of the physicality. I was just waiting for Ava to get a cheap 2nd one and sit out the entire rest of the half.

I thought about the foul thing, but she just didn't look like she had an energy. Now we know. I think CCW has been a bit under the weather as well. Time to get well....

It was electric before Lute got there. You may have missed the 69-70 unbeaten Big10 team. and many teams and games prior.
The 69-70 season was my first year with season tickets. I assumed it was the norm, in the conference we were undefeated and averaged over 100 ppg.
