Please inform us who here is degrading Stremlow, she’s been a dog and has rescued Iowa after McCabe got hurt. You on the other hand have had Deal in your doghouse since USC, why doesn’t she get the benefit of the doubt, and time to learn and improve?

The rest of what you posted is complete nonsense. I don't have anyone in a doghouse. If I posted something factual which casts Addie's play in a less than favorable light, that's nothing more than stating facts. Statistically speaking her play starting with the USC game hasn't been good. If someone says something ridiculous to me like she's been the best player on the team at finding her own shot I'm going to use actual facts to show why that's a ridiculous claim. To the best of my knowledge, every qualitative post I've ever made regarding Addie reflects an opinion that she's struggling as a freshman and that she should be much better next year. If that sounds too negative then I guess I'm guilty.

And both, the other poster referred to them as a 2 and 3 positional players. A 2 and 3 aren't a PG. Iowa is a post position offensive team so her numbers aren't going to be off the charts.

FWIW both the media and coaches put Olson and Swords on first team and put Chit Chat on 3rd/HM.

They're both very good players who have struggled mightily against the Iowa defense which had them totally discombobulated twice now. It's really quite amazing. I think Chit chat really deserved second team.

So the opinion of the posters you mentioned on Stremlow is downgrading her as a sophomore, but you cannot see that what you’re doing with Deal is similar.

No. There is no similarity. Nobody is playing off anyone except posters here posting nonsense. I don't know how many times I have to say it. Addie is struggling as a freshman. That's not debatable because that's what all of the numbers tell us. If you look at any posts of mine, they don't say she's slow. They don't say she's unathletic or unskilled, or a bust. To the contrary, I have pushed back on those comments by others and suggested that it's much more likely her inexperience that's preventing her from having more success. Wait til next year to see how she develops.

I hope the Hawkeyes make it hell for Betts tomorrow. And UCLA was fortunate to beat Ohio State by 10 today. Had OSU not gone hero ball the last 4 minutes, they would have had a great shot at the upset.

Keys to the game, imo:

* Ava needs to stay out of foul trouble.

* Value the ball. We had 19 turnovers the last time we played UCLA. Need that number to be around 12.

* Defense needs to show up. Last time we played, UCLA shot 50% from three, 60% from inside the arc, and 58% overall. Iowa shot just 24% from three, 56% from inside the arc and 43% overall.

Agree, if the ref doesn’t call it, it’s not a foul, I think #15 for M got away with 4-5 uncalled. Don’t care for her game or Michigan game plan. All predicated on they can’t call everything!

Izzo must have taught the Michigan head coach this tactic.

Probably not a popular opinion but the people who only post negative crap all the time but never seem to have anything to say when the girls are rolling deserve all the call outs they get from others deservedly so but ...the ones who wait until the game is over and post non stop calling out anybody who says anything about somebody not playing well or they'd like to see "insert player name" get in the game...well they are just about as annoying.
A lot gets said in game threads in the heat of the moment that probably won't age well I'm sure. If you wait until after the game to make a score prediction... you're probably always right.

Once again, I NEVER said that they were superior. Poster said they were LESS talented. I don't agree. As he said later, (and I agree) winning in a team game isn't always about having more talent. Its about how the team plays as 5 on the floor. As to your last couple of sentences I've NEVER made any of those comments so I won't respond to those.

They have no bigs as talented as either Hannah or Ava. Show me a PG on their team better than Chit. Two games, they scored 42 and 44. Each game had different styles but in the end, similar results. Yeah, they aren't as talented.

Really don't want to argue about this. I was talking about the roster as a whole. I already stated TWICE if you picked a starting 5 it would be Ava, Stuelke, CCW, Olsen, and Swords. Anything else is just homerism. I also said if you included the remaining group of players they have more game READY contributes in the remaining group. That's all I said. Kylie is a perfect example. While she's an effort player and plays really good defense she's not a more TALENTED basketball player then several of their guards. Disagree all you want.

This team is elite 8 quality but the top 4 are just automatically in the final 4. Nobody can touch them.

I’m not sure I’ve seen anyone say we are Final 4 quality. And, if we are the 2 seed we obviously will be favored in 2 games at Carver which puts us in the sweet 16. Round of 16 would probably be a tough 3 seed which while a tough game would certainly be winnable. Now obviously we would be huge underdogs against any of the top 4 and I’d give us almost zero chance against them. However, making the elite 8 would be a great season. If we get blown out in the sweet 16 or don’t make it certainly that would be a letdown.

This guy you're responding to is the same Jan hater that said a few weeks ago that Iowa wouldn't sniff a Sweet 16 or Elite 8 while she was at the helm. Now he's moving the goal posts to the 3rd round.

All you do is loiter around here waiting for something to go wrong before launching into a diatribe of why the talent isn't there and Jan was the wrong choice to lead the team. What was it you said a few weeks ago after a less than stellar performance? They won't see another sweet 16 or sniff an Elite 8 until Jan can recruit some more talent? You do realize we lost by 50 points, right? Are you actually okay with that? I don’t think anyone on this page is. Real fans don’t just fall in line, they speak honestly about how they feel. I’m not going to stay quiet because someone tries to bully others into agreeing with them. I don’t care if you disagree with me. People can have different opinions, and that’s perfectly fine. What I don’t understand is the need to try to push people into submission just because they see things differently. You don’t have to read my posts or comment for that matter!
