Those two are proven commodities lol. We have no idea what those three will do. Not a good comparison.I love except for arguments. Except for Ruth and Geurig, 27 Yankees were fairly mediocre.
RU will be looking like the 1927 NYY with those threeThose two are proven commodities lol. We have no idea what those three will do. Not a good comparison.
Cuse has 4 commits that are just as good as them. lolRU will be looking like the 1927 NYY with those three
Your Syracuse FB team , with the recruits they have, will be compared to the 1939 St Louis Browns![]()
Comment really wasn't about the 27 Yankees, or whether someone was proven or unproven. It was making a point that "except for" arguments are meaningless arguments. Those two are proven commodities lol. We have no idea what those three will do. Not a good comparison.
If you think those 3 are by far the best recruits in this class then you don't know much about this class. The article says a lot. I give Ash credit for maintaining the class. He's done a good job of selling his vision. I still think the class is top heavy. Other than Melton, Clark and Fogg the class is fairly mediocre. You can only hope those 3 perform to their rankings.
He was offered and declined. So can someone remind me why we didn't just hire Chris Partridge ourselves... seems like we just lost out on 3 top recruits because of that.
Didn't we already try having a Campanile on staff? I can't recall a player who he brought in.same article:
And this is not over. Michigan is already hot on the trail of four of New Jersey’s top football players, including Don Bosco lineman Tyler Friday, St. Peter’s Prep defensive back Shayne Simon and Irvington quarterback/athlete Jasiah Provillon. Will they all go to Michigan? At this point, anything is possible.
Meanwhile Rutgers and coach Chris Ash have yet to make a deep impact in this neighborhood. Getting St. Peter’s Prep quarterback Johnathan Lewis was a coup, but the school needs to be more effective getting kids to stay in New Jersey. Michigan and Boston College each have coaches on staff with North Jersey connections that are paying off. Syracuse is rising as well.
Rutgers just hired Jerry Kill as offensive coordinator. The former Minnesota coach has been successful and has a Big Ten background, but his hiring didn’t create much of a ripple here. To me, Bergen Catholic head football coach Nunzio Campanile is an ideal choice to join the Rutgers staff in some capacity. He would bring a good offensive mind and every North Jersey contact in his phone.
Are they part of the 10 two stars or 10 three stars that Cuse has committed to them.Cuse has 4 commits that are just as good as them. lol
Cuse has four 3 star 5.7 commits, which are a point from being 4 stars. If they were rutgers commits you guys would being asking when they will they get their 4th star .lol Their OLB commit Fagan is better than Fogg IMO. He's more verstile. Alabama USC and LSU thought highly of him too. TE commit Pierce was highly recruited, it was a fight to sign him right down to the last second. He is a 4 star on other sites. As far as those 2 star commits. Most of those are 3 stars on all other sites. Compare the offers to some of rutgers 3 star commits. You will see that those 2 star commits have more P5 offers than rutgers 3 stars. Rutgers class is over rated as usual. I told you guys the same thing during the Flood era and you didnt believe me. Now you know. Are they part of the 10 two stars or 10 three stars that Cuse has committed to them.
Hate to tell you this fact, but someone has to let you know:
Fantasy Island is not real no matter how much you wish it is when you talk about Syracuse Football.[roll]
Who do you think is better? According to the members here they are the best. Many have Melton, Clark and Fogg as immediate starters. lol I actually know the class well. Seen their film.If you think those 3 are by far the best recruits in this class then you don't know much about this class.

We can also bring up last years class too. SU's 56 versus your 78. Rutgers better hope those three 4 stars pan out. Maybe with those 3 you can score a TD now. Gonna need a whole class of 4 stars to compete in the Big10.27th versus 43rd.

Very fair response and I agree. Keep in mind that rutgers should have higher ranked classes most years. Rutgers is surrounded by talent. That alone should land you higher rated recruits. SU has to convince players from other states to commit. Not easy to do with our weather lol. Prime example of the difference in talent. is NJ having a top 35 list and NY had a top 5. It's not even close.money3189 - first off, kudos to you for revealing your true affiliation when participating here. It may seem like a small thing, but many fans of other programs, like the OP for this very thread, don't seem to adhere to that simple and honorable practice.
I reviewed your commitment list, and agree that based on other Power 5 offers, it may well be very underrated. Actually, I think that both Rutgers and Syracuse are having their best recruiting classes in years. Your new coach seems to be doing a very good job on the recruiting trail.
Concerning Rutgers' 3-stars, we have many who we are very high on, and do seem like elite talents. Examples include our QB commit Johnathan Lewis, who had an outstanding senior year, and many here feel s/b a 4 star. Some of the other notable 3-star talents include Beatty, Duggan, Marsette, Watts, Vretman, and Fatukasi, just to name a few. While I hope that our 4 star recruits live up to their billing, the truth of the matter is that while we've had several 4 star "bombs" in the last few years, many of our tops stars over the past decade were 3 star recruits like Ray Rice and Brian Leonard. We are optimistic that this year's 3 star group turns out similarly, but recruiting by its nature is a crap shoot, just look at the years that ND and Texas just had. Anyway, things are looking up at both RU and the Cuse, I think both teams did well with their new HC hires.
Many don't have them as immediate starters, they have them as eventual starters. Sam Vretman is better than two of the three and other guys like ihmir marsette have better ceilings/NFL potential than pretty much anyone in the class other than Clark who also has a good ceilings. Bryce Watts is another guy with an extremely high ceiling and is the fastest kid in the class.Who do you think is better? According to the members here they are the best. Don't forget Jonathan Lewis who is rated higher than Devito in the latest state rankings. The article says a lot. I give Ash credit for maintaining the class. Except that you missed my point, you got my point entirely. This isn't a discussion about 27 Yankees. Would it make you happy if I said except for Seaver and Koosman, 69 Mets were mediocre?Agree with your train of thought but the analogy is not good.
The 1927 Yankees were known as the Murderer's Row and had several outstanding players.
The following hit well over .300 for the season : Tony Lazzeri, Earl Combs, Bob Meusel.
Not to mention 20+ game winning pitchers Waite Hoyt and Pennock.
Why is this dickbag from Cuse allowed to post here?
I like Lewis senior film better. I think he could be good for you guys, but its real simple. NYS doesnt have much talent. Can you imagine how bad Rutgers classes would be if they weren't in a talent rich state? Rutgers gets about six 3 star commits a year just because some players dont want to go far from home and want to play UMich OSU and Penn st. The issue is that they are not the higher rated players in the state. For instance, several of their so called 3 star gems don't have another P5 offer other than Rutgers.Don't forget Jonathan Lewis who is rated higher than Devito in the latest state rankings.
How do you guys always manage to corner the market on 2 stars?
Because I dont insult people and call them names like I do on this forum. I speak the truth whether its complimenting rutgers or critiquing. I think most fans learn more about their team from someone outside their fan base. As much as don't like some of the comments about Cuse. I listen to you guys. I understand the perception of SU football. Plus it doesn't bother me. We shouldnt be getting so serious about 18 year olds on the field. We can't control the outcome of the games. Why get mad? Forum debates are fun.Why is this dickbag from Cuse allowed to post here?
Rutgers on average should be a middle of the pack Big Ten team. The recruiting base is there. If I'm a
Rutgers fan I'm hoping to beat Purdue next season. That's a big jump. Hopefully the faithful will remain patient for 3 more years but despite the NJ connection the Knights will have to recruit out of the area, too. Guys like Michigan and OSU will always have their choice. That's a fact.
Dude. Our class is better than yours and it will continue to be for years and years. Our 3 star kids who have no other power 5 offers are still universally higher tauted by every single recruiting service than your two stars.I like Lewis senior film better. Why does rutgers 2 stars or lower rated 3 stars always have high ceilings and are better than their rating? Like no other teams have those type of commits. Cuse TE commit Aaron Hackett is a 2 star. Good film and good offer list. If he was a rutgers commit , you guys would be asking why he's not a 4 star.WR commit Sharod Johnson offer list is not updated. His ranking is not justified. Some big schools are trying to poach him as we speak. BTW I like Watts too, so I agreeMany don't have them as immediate starters, they have them as eventual starters. Never said it wasnt better and like I said it should be better every year just based on your recruiting base. Im not gonna give you guys props for something that you should be doing. . Like I said I commend Ash for grabbing Clark Melton and Fogg. but lets be honest. Clark is coming because he wants to play with his brother, Melton is a legacy he wasnt wavering, especially with guaranteed playing time as a freshman. Fogg is another jersey kid who knows he will play day 1. Also those 2 stars SU has on rivals are 3 stars on all the other sites.Rutgers on average should be a middle of the pack Big Ten team. The recruiting base is there.

You do have a point there about the Michigan troll. There is nothing wrong with money's posts. Better question is why the OP here hasn't been banned, a Michigan troll trying to fool people into thinking that he's a frustrated Rutgers fan.
It's real simple. Good players have no interest in playing for you. It's been that's way for years and won't change. Overall, you guys are the worst program in the power 5.I like Lewis senior film better. I think he could be good for you guys, but its real simple. NYS doesnt have much talent. Our two stars on rivals are all 3 stars on 247 as well.Never said it wasnt better and like I said it should be better every year just based on your recruiting base. Ash owns NJ in 2017 ... 11 of the top 25 recruits so far according to 247 - more than Flood had in his whole 4 years and more than Michigan, OSU, and PSU have in NJ COMBINED ....... people keep ignoring this, that's fine but I'll see you in 2-3 years and we can all talk again..
I like Melton's skill set. I think he's a stud. Love the upside of Clark. Very athletic. I just think Fogg is over rated. I like our commit Nadarius Fagan better. He's more versatile. Can play any of the LB positions. I like our 5.7 commits. Devito, Palmer, Kingsley and Stritzinger will be a good CB. Just my opinion, not a knock on Rutgers. Just funny no one wants to acknowledge the lack of P5 offers from 8 of your commits. GSGS is the only one that wants to admit it.Our two stars on rivals are all 3 stars on 247 as well.
You have to use every single recruiting edge you have especially after a 2-10 season. We just have more of those edges than Syracuse and probably always will. If we can secure a top 35 recruiting class after a 2-10 season then classes are going to continue to improve as our team improves.
This is the best class we've had in a while and better than any Syracuse class since probably the 90s. A Syracuse fan coming here to tell us they're not impressed with our much higher rated class and that their high 3 star guys are better than our 4 star recruits is just silly.
Lol my inlaws have already arrived. Anything to get away for a bit is nice but I hear you.A Rutgers v. Syracuse recruiting argument on Christmas......I think we've all lost our minds.
Only the most deeply entrenched of fans would make such arguments on such days.A Rutgers v. Syracuse recruiting argument on Christmas......I think we've all lost our minds.
