I realize they are playing top ranked Kansas but they don’t look so good right now.

I expect a very competitive but mediocre B1G season.

I know people love Izzo and he has a championship and final fours, but I still think he underachieves with the talent he gets.

Michigan state for whatever reason always starts out slow. Looks like they went with a different strategy this year in recruiting no one and dones. When all is said and done, they ll be a top 20 squad. They're not an elite team

Spread was 4.5 and I bet on Kansas. Wow what an ending if you had money on the game.

I think Izzo is quite possibly one of the ten best college basketball coaches ever. He is a terrific HC. In 22 years at MSU he has 8 Big Ten titles, 7 Final Fours (5th all time) and won a Natty. He has made the NCAA tournament 20 straight seasons.

Michigan State will be very, very good again this season.

Will he get Nick Ward on board to play like he wants?

That was a tough matchup for Ward last night. Azubuike is bigger and stronger (and better) in my opinion. And Ward can't guard Lawson.

Ward will be more than fine in the Big Ten as he won't have many matchups like last night. MSU's strength (imo) is that the backcourt is good and experienced. That is a recipe for a good season in CBB.

Nick Ward spent a lot of time in Izzo's dog house last year.

Easier to limit minutes for a player like Ward when you have Jaren Jackson on the roster. Ward got 25 minutes last night and was in foul trouble. Not sure Tillman, Goins and Bingham present Izzo with the options he needs against teams with a post presence.

MSU lost to the #1 team in the country 92-87. That is a pretty good start.

It's downright comical that Kansas is ranked #1 in the preseason poll. Duke is far and away the most talented team.

As for MSU they were a borderline top 10 team last season, lost 2 lottery picks, and added no top 50 freshmen. Kinda funny they got ranked #10 in the preseason. They are a borderline top 25 team.
