I keep going back to the Cincy game where NU was almost flawless with 3 penalties,
was +2 in turnover margin, but was all-out to hold off a good Cincy team on the last play of the game.

2 easy games later, and now NU jumps back in to play a big boy football team again.
Imo, it wasn't flawless. We lacked majorly in yac yardage that would have blown that game open. Idk if that is fixable, but should be better than it was in that game.

I said, "almost flawless." LOL

I think nearly everyone would take a team that commits only 3 penalties, hits 2 field goals including a long one, and is plus 2 in turnovers that will give you a chance against anyone of comparable talent.

On offense, other than Lindemeyer and Ives, we are not a particularly big team physically in the skill dept, of course DR is big but I doubt he'll get many yac's.

Hate to say it but I don't think that we will be able to contain their rb and Underwood will have almost as many yards rushing as passing.

An excellent battle of Michigan's Rush offense vs Nebraska's Rush Defense and Nebraska's Pass offense vs Michigan's Pass Defense.

Nebraska will need to make sure we catch those route passes to keep the chains moving. The higher the score the better I feel about Nebraska's chances. I feel a Nebraska 34 - 24 type of win.

And for the love that is all things holy. Please don't let the QB scramble.

This Michigan team is a decent team but it isn't as good as yall making it out to be.

I wonder if it equal parts of us thinking Michigan is better than they really are....And maybe wondering if we our as good as we think, because of the (lack of) competition we've played...and the last couple of decades we have to draw on.

...we need this game so effing bad its ridiculous

my gut say michigan 21 Nebraska 10 I’m not sold on the oline and the receivers able to get open, defensively our front seven gets pushed around will tire out michigan won’t have to pass. Do I ever hope I’m wrong, definitely

Michigan 31
Huskers 20

I think Michigan runs for 300+ on 5+ yards per carry. Their O Line will control the game.

Offensively, I think we will move the ball but struggle in the red zone. To score in the red zone, you have to be able to run it at them and get tough yards.

Hope I’m wrong
I been down on the defense but even our good defenses would give up points early in the season...this team has given up 8 points a game, so I don't think we are terrible...I think the sieve look is due to the 3-3-5 look and the fact we don't have much push, but do get penetration and tackle really well. I don't think there is a team that has the horses to run for 300 yards against a power 4 opponent very often because that requires some TEs and good blocking WRs.

If you are just gambling on this game with no heart-factor, it would be hard to not take Michigan.

I guess gamblers are high on the overs.

Seems here in the last 15 plus years when ever nebraska is in a big game we fall flat I remember we’re going to beat Texas at home and we lose. I can’t read the team anymore I hope we win but it wouldn’t surprise me if we lose
This is so true. I predicted we will win against Michigan but that was just the Husker fan in me rooting for the good guys. Fact is, our defensive line is mediocre at best against the run and our offensive line can’t run block. We will most likely lose by two touchdowns due to our trenches failing us.
So yeah, I am hyped for this game, will be hoping against hope we find a way to win, but deep down expecting us to come out flat and lay a turd.

Not to be a downer, because NU lost about a million of those types of games in a row, but DR got damn lucky twice with the almost scoop and score and the almost pick 6. The game was about as far from flawless as you can get, and still get lucky enough to win. That won't fly against Michigan.

Offense:
DR will be (slowly) running for his life all game. Possibly injured. No holes opened up for the RBs. 2-3 Turnovers. 6+ stupid penalties.

Defense:
DL pushed around all game as they rack up 300 yards rushing. Seriously? Who thought 260-275lb (Even 300lb isn't big enough) defensive linemen are big enough for the Big Ten? Epic failure on our coaches... oh yeah, but we are back. Gonna shock the world. Just stop.

Oklahoma's starting DL were 322, 323 and 292lbs against MI. No wonder our O-line thought they improved during the offseason. Not much resistance from our DL.

Biggest game so far. Their run game and run defense will be the difference.

24 Michigan
17 Nebraska
I agree.

We don’t have anyone on the DL who requires a double team. That’s gonna make it really hard on our LBs. Their run game is going to kill us.

We need the rookie QB to turn the ball over. Absent that, it’s gonna be an uphill battle.

Spread is shrinking. I don’t love our chances but money must be coming in on NU. Fan duel was 2.5 yesterday, it’s down to 1.5 and Nebraska is -115 at +1.5. Strange.

Nothing new with my comment, Michigan has more horses on both lines than does Nebraska, and the rest of their players are pretty damn good. No score prediction, I just see Michigan winning, and I hope like hell I'm wrong.

I think we get punched in the mouth early, they will be a lot more physical than anything we have faced, and haven't even faced a team with a heartbeat since August. Probably fall down like 10-0, and then just kind of struggle to keep up. We score a late touchdown to cut the lead to 24-20, but can't stop them on 3rd and 2 and the run out the clock. I think the game will be exciting but I think we have too many holes...a poor short yardage game, inability to score in the redzone, and we can't stop 3rd and short when on defense. Recipe for losing a lot of close games.

Several of the TV guys have predicted a substantial Michigan win. I hope they are wrong but I don't think they are. Some words of wisdom: don't drink too much today, as day hangovers following a another dispiriting loss are the doubly depressing.

Yes, some of us are battered fans. This is what happens when the team shiats the bed 27 straight times against ranked foes. -- Crisker
