In other news, Michigan and Ohio State are tied at 10 in the fourth quarter. The Michigan QB just threw an INT at the goal line. Yikes.

Ryan Day is going to blow it again!

(CFP is garbage. This loss won’t even affect OSU.)

Totally unintelligible on the end zone pick, and the long run on 3rd and 4. Love that guy.
I'll never forgive Gus for shouting "Touchdown, Wisconsin!" when we scored against Ohio State a few years ago in the B1G championship game.

LOL Ohio State. They were 19.5 point favorites in this game. I expected them to win, but not by 20.

“Sherrone Moore says we didn’t cheat…this time!

Never change, Gus.

Gosh I hate that OSU will not make the conference championship but *will* get a playoff bid (probably a home game).

So how good is Michigan right now? I thought we were just bad against them last week, but they went and knocked off the #2 team. It seems they put it all together at the end of the season and we played them at the worst possible time. They're playing like a top 10 team right now.

They have an excellent defense and a mediocre offense. Been that way all season. 62 passing yards today. They're not a top 10 team because their offense is so pedestrian.

Totally agree. Playoffs should have been set at eight with limits on how many a single conference could send.

Four was not enough when a fifth team could have unjustly been left out. In an eight-team playoff, I don't care about the eighth or ninth.

The hypocrisy of X decades of talking heads saying how important the regular season is in college football...

Then after the game a fight ensued at the 50 yd. line and police ended up on the field and pepper sprayed players on both teams. I guess Michigan tried to plant their flag and the fight was on.
Anyway Ryan Day loses again to Michigan
He better hope the Buckeyes play for the National championship otherwise as cold as it is outside here in the Midwest his seat is gonna be boiling hot.

One would think that Michigan would have learned something from that bruhaha they had up in East Lansing a couple of years ago.

OSU booted Kyle McCord for the last minute loss to Michigan after a perfect season, but Howard wasn’t able to do much today, throwing critical picks and was not able to complete anything on their last chance drive. Not to mention his gaffe in letting the clock run out in their last minute loss to Oregon.

Not horrible for OSU. Still make playoff and don’t have to bang heads with Oregon again. My bet is the Natty is won by a team that doesn’t win its conference. Day is bad, but they have a real shot at the Natty.

McCord beat Miami today and leads the nation in passing for 9-3 Syracuse.

He’s objectively better than Howard, but OSU ran him off because he had the misfortune of playing for Ryan Day.

My kid goes to Cuse so it was fun to root for them this year. McCord clearly appears to be a better passer. He had one real clunker this year where he threw 5 picks against Pitt. But he probably would’ve done better against Oregon and Mich.

It will be interesting to hear what Day says about the fight at his press conference. May save or lose his job. On one hand players should not be fighting. On the other hand what Michigan did was a bridge too far for Ohio State fans and they would expect their players to "defend their house". I know players can get seriously hurt and worse but they were never going to just stand there. Anyway, Day will need to strike the right tone. If not, the fans may say adios.

Say, how did that McCord fellow do yesterday?

It was pretty poor of Michigan to do that as defending national champions. They were acting as if they’d just emerged from the Rich Rod - Brady Hoke era, not having won their 4th in a row in the series.

How do you plant a flag on Field Turf anyway?

The 12 team playoff is a cash cow but I also hate it. Losses like OSU should be devastating and kill your title hopes, not just give you a free bye and MAYBE cost you a home game.

The playoff give you 11 really competitive games instead of just 3. I haven't seen any signs of teams taking their foot off the gas because they were "in" in week 14. Day and OSU desperately wanted to win the game yesterday.

Clueless, classless Michigan inciting a brawl after a win. What a disgrace.
Well when Texas and the Oregon did the same thing to Michigan at the Big House, Michigan just left the field. I guess the Buckeyes just could not do that. Too bad for them.

Still not as bad as not going with Joe Cool as QB (would have won an NC with Burrow).

This is why had always stated that very much prefer a passing QB with scrambling ability over a "running QB" who is limited as a passer (what's the point of having those NFL caliber weapons if the QB can't get them the ball?l.

That being said, dOSU's weakest unit on O was its O-line (which has consistently been Day's weak point) losing their 2 best linemen over the course of the season hasn't helped things.

For the past decade+, the team that won the battle on the ground (better O-line play) has won the game.

If Braun is to have any future here, he needs to fix the O-line (and bring in a competent passer).
