Not that far back. Cael's early teams, outside their raided up hammers, feasted on low-scoring "stall ball" tactics the same as PK. He would've fit right in.

That or a John Smith-coached Ok State team.

In fact, PK's style is how most Iowa wrestlers lost in the first 5-7 years under Brands.

PK controlled almost the entire match and rode Mantanona out in the 2nd but couldn't finish any TDs. Up 1-0 late with RT locked when Mantanona got a TD but Mantanona also got a 2nd stall call to end 3rd 3-3. Mantanona wins a crazy scramble off PK's shot in OT to win 6-3.

It wasn’t crazy. Getting taken down on our own shots is this program’s calling card.

You forgot to add that the takedown happened when PK walked into Mantanona while he was sitting on the ground. Why the hell are you getting into that situation with a scrambler with 20 seconds to go?
