Belief without evidence. Fitz better pull out all the motivational stops for this one. I'm thinking maybe he finds an extra penny laying on the pavement Saturday morning heading to the stadium and that tips the scales in our favor.
Fitz magic?

Michigan isn't that great, especially they haven't done anything special on the road ever since they were undefeated and lost to Iowa back in 2016.

Their only road losses since then were @ top 5 OSU in 2016, top 5 Wisconsin and PSU in 2016, and #12 ND in 2018. Lacking elite wins, but nothing even close to a bad loss.

I guess our best shot is to catch them off guard. Pretty much their entire fan base has a 20-30 point victory.

cats are better than they have looked. Thoreson should be more recovered. Michigan’s offense is very weak.

well that clearly isn't true. I think most Michigan fans best guess is something close to the 2 TD spread. Northwestern's defense is too good for anyone to seriously expect a blowout, but it's also hard to see Northwestern's offense consistently moving the ball.

Ok, UM beat writers then. Let’s face it, there are very few Michigan fans that are expected a tough tussle. If they exist they are hiding.

Michigan has truly struggled on the road. Not just this year, but last year as well. Their only road victories in the big ten were against Indiana and Purdue, both of which weren't determined until late in the game. The Indiana game went into overtime. I think we are a bit better than Purdue/Indiana. Of course, you never know and that's why they play the game but if we can come out winning the turnover battle then we have a legit chance. Why not?

Michigan fans already swarming Skokie. Looks like they're here in numbers.

I can't blame them. If we play the same way we played against Duke or Akron or Purdue 2nd half, then we'll lose by 3-4 TDs. That's what most people expect to happen...

We need 60 minutes as good or better than our first half against Purdue.

We'll find out very quickly what our offense can do.

I'll always give Fitz the benefit of the doubt, but our team has to come out inspired and fighting for every inch in the trenches to make a game of it.

I think it will be a much tougher game than most are expecting. Harbaugh has been keeping the offense conservative so far and Northwestern’s front 7 is too tough to just keep running when it’s expected. I doubt we’ll open it up too much because the tackles might let Gaz kill Shea.

My guess is 24-17 Michigan

This is a pretty astute comment. Harbaugh has used run first offense with simple or half field reads for Patterson. Cats are likely to play pretty conservatively with Michigan’s athletic defense. 40 to 45 point output would seem about right.

Your guess was very close to the mark. Well done!
